I have two images, one w/fishbowl, and another w/headlights, how do I get the glass effect on them? Is there a specific product for this?
Two, I downloaded digital images from a company & it came in PDF format, so I cannot download it to Word-How can I resize these images?
Finally, what is a good paper to use when coloring w/copics? I have had a problem w/bleeding, and wonder if there is a way to prevent this.
Thanx!
For the glass effect, Stampin up makes a product called Crystal Effects. It dries to a beautiful glaze. You may see Aleene's Paper Glaze in the craft stores, I didn't have good luck with that one, it smeared a lot of my inks. I use that for glue.
I like Neenah Classic Crest Solar white paper for Copics. It does bleed through but I usually mount my colored image onto another piece of cardstock, so it doesn't matter to me. They do make a heavier weight paper but I haven't tried it with copics. I think there are some others (papertrey, maybe?) that carry a heavier weight cardstock.
There are several gloss products that are like Crystal Effects mentioned by the previous poster - I tend to use Glossy Accents by Ranger. Another way to do it is to "colour" over the area with a Versamark pen (or go direct to paper with a Versamark pad if it's a cut out of a large image and the whole thing needs to be glossed) and sprinkle clear embossing powder on there and then heat emboss.
I think the answer to your PDF question is that unless you have pdf editing software (e.g. Adobe Acrobat Professional) you can't make changes to your pdf file, the image is more like a traditional stamp in that it is the size it is.
As I'm in the UK I can't really help with your Copic paper question but there's lots of info already on the forum if you do a search.
At the top of your PDF file is a camera icon....click on it and outline the graphic you want, it will put a box around it...right click, copy and then in your Word or graphic program, paste your image and resize from there.
So far, Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no idea you could do that in PDF, Trulyblessed, and I am going to my SU! monthly class next Monday so will order the crystal effects. I also found a few things done with crystal lacquer.
For small areas I like to add gloss to, I use a Sakura clear glaze pen. It works perfect for eyes or when you want to do just part of an image and it dries super fast.
I think that the best cs for coloring with copics is Gina K Pure Luxury white. This stuff is amazing and it is available is layering weight 80lb or base weight 120lb. The first time I tried this cs I was hooked. No bleeding and it blends beautifully. The 120lb is great for 1 layer cards and you get no bleed through the top layer.

I like the clear embossing powder technique. Sometimes I use three coats (as in the cracked glass technique) to get the look I want. Thanks for all the other ideas!!
