I know it's March but it snowed at my house today so I thought it would be fitting. That way you can get started on your Christmas quilling now The video can be found HERE.

I just left a comment on your blog.. All the ladies who visit this thread should visit Sonya's blog... It is awesome. So very inspiring.
YOU'RE ALL ENABLERS!!! :lol:I've been bitten by the quilling bug thanks to all the gorgeous creations y'all have posted here. This week, I've gone out and bought quilling tools, paper, books and kits, not to mention what I've ordered on-line. It's not like I don't have enough craft stuff on my plate already. I'm making workplace clothes for my DD and summer clothes for my niece; I've got two quilts started; I'm working on a Precious Moments cross stitch project; I've started coloring on 3 sets of Christmas cards; I'm crocheting fluerettes for cards - I don't have time for quilling! MY DH thinks I'm schizophrenic, jumping from one project to another. I've got craft stuff strewn throughout the entire house.
Now I gotta go. There's paper calling my name from the other end of the house.
Thanks so much for the outstanding inspiration and for sharing your work. Any ideas on how I can add more hours to the day?

thanks for sharing this quilling information... My Aunt has a beautiful wedding invitation frame that is decorated with quilling.... I always wanted to learn how to do one for my wedding invite... and now I can...thanks!
i just bought a couple of kits from hobby lobby and they were very inexpensive and even came with precut paper in alot of different colors. each kit was like $2 and some change and all i had to buy extra was the little quilling tool pen thingy which was like another $2 but i tried one little circle and it is really fun and easy and can't wait till i can actually complete an actual little project. i will be uploading it and sharing it with ya'll as soon as i can big hugs, mary lane

Welcome! Im sure you'll love it. Waiting to see your projects... Have fun!
For the people that are intimidated by quilling, I wanted to share what my teenage daughter made as her first quilling project. Here is her dinosaur. She didn't KNOW how hard quilling was supposed to be so she just sat down and did. I bet if you gave it a try you would find out that it isn't that hard.
Also - if anyone lives in the Los Angeles area, Marian at Crafter's Connection has a quilling class coming up soon. Here is a link... even if you don't live in the area, you've got to see this - she does amazing work: http://craftersconnection.typepad.co...ing-class

OMG! Your cards ROCK! All your creations are awesome, but I love the grasshopper. Marian's card is so beautiful. Oh, the time that must take. I will definitely look for the Klutz Twirled Paper book - think I saw it at Michaels. Thanks so much for sharing and show us MORE!

I bought a bunch of tubes that contain different colors of already cut quilling strips. Guess I had better try to use them. I even have a book that I bought when I was still married; and I've been divorced since 1997

Ditto on everything you said in the last sentence! I've had quilling supplies for 30 years! Must use them!

My last quilling projects had me into quilling supplies that had to be at least fifteen years old. Still in pristine condition, that's the good part about this project, providing you pack things away orderly and stack away on a high shelf, ONE DAY you just may come back to them. If you enjoyed doing a craft years back there's always the chance you'll come back to it another day. Quilling is something that justn't 'date' so you can pick it up in umpteen years and still do it proud. An article I've written for beginners to quilling is here; it has embedded links to visuals.
I am so happy to see this thread! I bought some quilling supplies recently and have just been playing with my stuff. I have been making some fringed flowers to use on some of my cards.
They say what comes around comes around again!! I use to do quilling for wedding presents. Window box frame using their wedding invitation and quill flowers, hearts and leaves around it along with putting gold or silver wedding bands within the flowers!! It is so easy to do. Just get your large needle out and go for it!! I'll have to do this on some of my cards now!! or even scrapbooking....
