Default A new technique... **updated**

First, I take my ink pad (either classic or craft), lay it flat on the paper and swirl it around. Sort of like direct to paper I guess, but it seems like a different look. Just be sure your fingers are on the side of the ink pad, not pushing on the backside of the pad.

A very easy technique, but I really like the results...so I thought I would share.

Here are some examples:

Another done by Fool4scrapping:

***Update*** I played with this technique a little more this morning. This time I embossed my images first, then swirled the ink pad around on the cardstock. Then I took a wet wipe and cleaned off the embossed images and blended the ink a little. I attached the card to this post:

Here is a peek at the results:

Very cool! TFS! I will definitely try this. I love how you can effectively 'make matching paper' for a project by doing this.

GORGEOUS layout!

That's an awesome effect and really makes the background look a bit more interesting without taking away from whatever else is going on.

Hmmm wonder what it would look like as a two or tri color background.

Thank you girls! I am glad you like it as much as I do

I just finished my mom's card, and I used this technique on there also.

Here is a link to a card with the same technique:

Thank you, it is just Blush blossom I usually never use this color, but this technique gives it a little extra pizzaz that I think it is missing.

How about if we think up a bunch of names and then we will do a poll, and who ever the winner is will get a surprise RAK from me?? I like all the names so far...so it would be too hard for me to pick!!

Sound like fun?

I thought of using two colors, too. Don't you think the ink on the paper would go on to the second pad though? I don't want to ruin my ink pads.

I did the same thing with the craft spot and it came out so cool! I posted it a few months ago. Check out the green looking paper. It's acutally AAppeal with Artichoke smeared on in a rubbing motion. Here's the link:

That is cool I will have to try it with craft ink. This has been a favorite technique of mine for awhile, I just never thought it was all that great until some of my stamping friends started to ooooh and aaah over it....so I thought I would share

Here is a scrapbook page I posted back in October of 2005 with this technique:

Thanks for the info - I've been playing as well and watching this thread. Haven't learned to work the digital cameras still... it certainly does add pizzaz to blush blossom!
