I have dry embossed thicker or darker paper using the following technique:
-Cut a piece of cardstock vellum about the size of your template and securely tape the vellum along one edge of the template with scotch tape or even masking tape. (Be sure that the tape isn't over any of the designs in the template)
-Emboss the design in the vellum.
-Insert the cardstock that you want to emboss between the vellum and the template so that the image is in the right location on your cardstock.
-Emboss the image, using the image on the vellum as a guide. Once the image is impressed in the cardstock you can lift up the vellum and finish embossing the cardstock. If you don't damage the vellum you can reuse it, I have left some vellum pieces taped to the template to use later.
-Once the vellum is damaged or worn too much just start a new one.
Hope this helps, Debbie
