Like me, most of you are addicted to making cards. Well I have a neat idea to share with all of you. It is a two pocket card. I learned this while shopping in scrap book store for paper. It comes out really neat. I'm sure you will like it. I hope I wrote out the directions clearly. I'm not one to give good directions!!!
TO MAKE A TWO POCKET CARD
TAKE A FULL 8 ½ x 11 PIECE OF PAPER & HOLD IT FACING YOU IN A LANDSCAPE POSITION (ACROSS).
FOLD IT IN HALF LENGTH WISE. BE SURE TO HAVE A NICE CREASE IN THE PAPER.
OPEN IT BACK UP AND FOLD IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER TO MEET THE MIDDLE CREASE AND FOLD IN THE TOP LEFT CORNER TO MEET THE MIDDLE CREASE.
FOLD THE PAPER IN HALF LENGTH WISE AGAIN. YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE A POCKET ON EITHER SIDE.
NOW FOLD IT IN HALF & NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE A TWO-POCKET CARD.
I LIKE TO DO THIS TYPE OF CARD WITH TWO SIDED PAPER. IT COMES OUT REALLY NEAT & I GET A LOT OF COMPLEMENTS ON THEM.
If you have any questions, I'll do my best to help you out.
What sort of things do you put in the pockets? I was thinking I could put tags, pictures, mini stamped postcard size cards. If anyone has else has a good idea of how to fill the pockets I'd love to hear. I think I might be doing this for my stamp club next week.
stampin-girl,
Thanks for posting the instructions! I just folded myself a pattern. It was super easy and I think it will look great all stamped up! I can't wait to see your sample!
Ok, I'm stumped. I just tried it, but am doing something wrong. I have one pocket on the inside and one on the outside. I need to see a pic with the instructions. Sounds liek a neat idea though.
I put a tea cup on the outside & in the upper right hand corner I use a round tag that says "a special brew just for you. & put a tea bag in the pocket. I have a neat saying that goes with it, but not sure of the saying.
If you have one on either side of the paper you have it correct. Just fold that in half to have a card. I'll have a picture for you tomorrow. My friend here at work will scan it for me.
I have two questions. I'm new to splitcaststampers.com
When I signed up to be able to talk with all of you wonderful people, it put Card stock collector under my name. I didn't put that there. How can I change that & how do I add the picture under my name?
I also use this for a just because/birhtday card. I like to buy the little wallet cards you can get a card store or gift shop. I put them in the pocket & mail to whoever. They like getting the wallet cards. That way they have something to look at & think of me.
Location: This must be heaven...there are stamps & scrapbooks EVERYWHERE!!!

I just tried it with a piece of printer paper...cool. You can really adapt it to have the pockets on any side or front/back that you want to too. This might be cool to put a pack of lemonade/koolaid in the pocket with the "when life gives you lemons...." - didnt I see that somewhere before?

I made this type of card and used it for my grandson's birthday party invitation. In the outside pocket, I placed the actual invitation printed on a tag with a ribbon pull. In the inside pocket, I put several different colored balloons.....it was really cute!! I did use the two sided paper when I made the folds. I got my idea from one of Anna Griffin idea books.
Wow, work really zapped my brain today. I have a pocket on the front and one inside the card.....can't wait to see a pic of this one. Just in time for Valentine's Day treats!

How do I post my image into my message tomorrow for you to see? Do I copy/paste the image, or do I start my own gallery? In which case how do I do that? Like I said before, I new to this scanning stuff.
Click on "Reply" at the bottom of the reply page you'll see something that says "Add an Attachment" That should work. I hope it does - I can't wait to see this!
I trying this at home. When I clicked on that, It won't let me do anything. Although when I went to the galleries, I saw a place where I can upload a picture. I will try that once I get the picture scanned at work. Thanks again for all of your help.
