Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that a friend gave me a tip and if you have the magic eraser that you buy in the cleaning section of the grocery store (it takes crayon off of the wall and things like that) it will take the printed words off of the paint chips! So instead of cutting off the words (and having less to work with) you can 'erase' them!! I just made a card with it and I filled in my own little words on the bottoms such as friends, dream, sweet, joy, and such from the Good Times set. I hope this gives all of you some new ideas out there!!!

I am going to have to try that. I swear by the Mr. Clean Erasers - never knew I could use them for scrapping & stamping! BTW - they are the BEST for cleaning those textured refrigerator handles...
You girls are just too smart for your own good! All I've ever used the erasers for was getting scuff marks off my vinyl floor. Now I've got to go clean my refrigerator handle and keep one by my stamping table to remove ink from my fingers. Work, work, work, that's all I ever do
My tip (which isn't all that creative, since it comes off the box) is to cut the Eraser into small pieces. That way when it becomes flat and ugly from use, you don't have to feel guilty about throwing it away. You have lots of little "clone" erasers to take it's place.
I can tell this is going to be a sticky thread...I'll be checking back after I clean my fridge handle.
Cool Idea!! I just tried and it works great!! Use it dry not wet though. I tried it first wet like an idiot   I have a bunch of them but I have never used then because of the words. Thanks for sharing.
That is so cool! What else does it do? I got as a last resort before sanding my phone cabinet top and then refinishing it because my two year old had taken a pen and scribbled all over it and I couldn't get it out. Love it!
With some chips, an ordinary eraser will work, too!

Simone,
Paint chips are what they call the paint samples you use to choose paint colors. You've probably just never heard tham called "chips" before.

I tried using Classic Ink on a paint chip, and it wouldn't dry. Do you use Stazon? Would clear EP help? I thought they would make such cute valentines.
Your card is so cute Nan! I did mine with browns too. I will let you guys know when I post it. Maybe tomorrow. My sister was over today and she made her first 2 scrapbook pages ever (I was so happy to pass on what I know!!) and on one of them she used a 4 square pink paint chip from Lowe's but actually kept the color names on because they were really cute like 'st. valentine' and 'tickle pink' The page ended up soooo cute! I was so proud of her!
Oh! And another tip! She got the samples that are rough like sand (not sure what they are for) and she tore them on all four sides and embossed the toile blossoms in white on it. She got a nice surprise though when she went to heat it because it kind of crumpled a little bit and gave it such a cool look that really went with the picture! I will have to make her take pics and put them on here.

<mental note to self...add *another* set of Mr. Clean erasers to shopping list>
WOW, I adore Nan's card and would never have thought about using paint chips for cards. I Love this site!
BTW, here's yet another use for those Mr. Clean erasers (house-wise). Toddler toys, especially those large, a tiny bit textured Little Tykes toys. I steamed and windexed and scrubbed and everything I could think of but you know how they can still look scuffed on some of the corners and bottoms? I got desperate and used that one them and it not only got them cleaner than they were, a few of the items even looked brand new!!
My husband just loves it when I take the household products into the stamping room...first the wax paper, then the saran wrap, OxyClean, now the Magic Eraser!!!
I have had one of these erasers in my laundry room for over a year now - still in the package! After reading all these posts, mine is now ready for the garbage. I went crazy testing it all over my house. They are GOLD!!!!! I can't believe what you can take off with these things - and to think I can even use them for cardmaking/scrapbooking. Awesome!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing.
