 I am so frustrated! I had this really great idea for a wedding card using "Life's Special Moments" and I can't seem to get it to come together. I am trying to use versamark and black embossing powder for the bride and groom image on whisper white cardstock. Even with embossing buddy I still get a spray of black embossing powder around the image and it looks crappy! Help!
Perhaps try switching to the other type of embossing powder - detail if you're using standard or standard if you're using detail? (I usually end up using detail, but it depends on how bold the image is that you're embossing.)
Or, you could try clear emboss on Black Craft - that way any stray specks of powder won't be so glaring.
Hope that helps
Happy Stampin'!

I have trouble with the embossing buddy, I use a fabric sheet instead, it works better (but I don't tell my customers that... )
Thank you all for your suggestions! I am using SU! detail powder, but for some reason the glossy cardstock really shows any imperfections. As for Embossing Buddy---that boils down some talc in a sac! Good idea with the dryer sheets---I tried it and wax paper and it worked. Still way more work than I expected----and I have 10 of these cards to make! Oh well..........better get back to work!;-)
I also use a used fabric sheet, and I have some baking soda wrapped up in a sheet of paper towel. Tied off at the top with a rubber band and use it like you would the embossing buddy. I actually use that more than the fabric sheet.
good luck!

You know, I was having this very problem last night! What is it with the Detail Black on Glossy? ;) I'm not as worried, since the black "dots" add a little to my design (with ladybugs). But it is a problem. Hope someone else has a good "cure all."

I find that I usually just use the regular embossing powder, unless it was for a super super detailed image - like that one with the puppy - "happiness is..." or the "stippled rose" - ykwim? Anyway, while the detailed sticks to the image well, i also find it sticks to everything else a little too well, and use just regular emboss seems to be better for me!
I just read in one of the magazines I get (I get too many to remember which one it was) that said to use your heat tool from the bottom. This will prevent the flecks from going all over. I did this the other night and it worked, it just took a little bit because I was going through three layers.

Fabulous! And so simple. Duh!
I love the Swiffer idea, too. I love Swiffers for dusting...never thought about using it for stamping. ;)
