Default how to get that sticky stuff off...

I am in the process of un-mounting ALL of my wooden stamps. Some are really easy to do, others leave the sticky glue stuff on the rubber and it is really hard to get off. I have rubbed and rubbed and tried to wash it off, but some is impossible. I went out and found some Goo-gone and other glue removers, but all the bottles say not to use on rubber. I don't want to ruin my rubber stamps, but....I don't know what else to do. Suggestions?

Default Unmounting Your Rubber Stamps

I know what you mean about the glues sticking to the rubber - I have had a heck of a time getting that stuff off. I have used goo-gone and alcohol. I know that you aren't suppose to use goo-gone but that is what I used and then cleaned the rubber as soon as I was done getting the stuff off of it. I found that it is easier to unmount the Stampin' Up! stamps as soon as I get them - it is alot easier. The older stamps are the ones that gave me problems.

i recently did the same thing and found the answer to the sticky - i take a big soft brush and brush baby powder all over it - instantly unsticky! i do get all the rubber off so the stamp is not lumpy obviously....

I'm not sure if you can use nail polish remover on rubber, but I do know that it takes sticky stuff off of everything. I don't think it would be too much of a problem if you used it and then washed it right away. Hope this helps some

Thanks for the suggestions. I never thought about just leaving the small left-over glue and brushing it with baby powder.... hmmm....great idea! Thanks!!

You might try the Adhesive Remover from Stampin' Up! It is great. I get the adhesive off my scissors with it, remove adhesive from my grid paper that I stamp on, even my cards. Anytime I have adhesive anywhere I don't want it, I grab that remover. And it's very inexpensive. I keep one with my stamping stuff. In fact, I think I have 2 or 3 now. Hope this helps.
