Are you talking about the cards that use gel on them with windows? Like this card?

Here is the technique guide for it.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for, but I'm in the process of *trying* to do some cards with this technique and it's been fun!

Not quite. There is usually a floating stamped image, scene etc , 'clear window area' and then the rest of the card.
Thanks for the gel technique, tho

Linda (labullard) posted two links to "floating image" techniques in this thread.

Default Floating images

I use self laminating sheets by Judikins to trap an image inside to give the appearance of floating. First stamp and colour the outside of the sheet(non-sticky side) with Black stazon or similar. You can add then add rox, beads, sand, glitter etc. sandwiched in between 2 sheets. Judy from Judikins demonstrated it with tropical fish and put beautiful glass beads and gold rox and it really looked like a tropical scene. Unlike a shaker the images stays in place and light shines right through it if you put a frame around it.

I am delighted to see this thread. Just yesterday I was sitting at my table, transparency in hand, trying to think of a way to attach a frame around it without looking globby. I can't wait to try all the ways mentioned to see which works best for what I want. After using blue alcohol inks on photo paper, I then stamped, on a transparency, a large black fish with little ones around it and set it on the photo paper. Looked really cool but I don't want to use "corners" to attach it and tape shows thru. I want it to look three dimensional. So, needless to say I am excited. Thanks ladies.

Default Suspension Window

It's actually called "Suspension Window" if what you're looking for is what I'm thinking. Here is a link to a card that makes the images look like they're "floating"...

Suspension Window - Looks Like Spring by SunshineMama at Splitcoaststampers

and here's a link to the tutorial...

http://stampinmama.typepad.com/stamp...y_tutoria.html

Hope this helps. It's a really neat idea. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks great.
