Default Dew drops using crystal effects & re-inkers AKA Crystal Drops

Can any of you tell me where to find the instructions to make dew drops using crystal effects, re-inkers and waxed paper. The person who provided this technique was from the Black Hills in South Dakota and had a picture of one of those nasty blizzards from this past winter...a door to the outdoors was opened up and showed how high the snow was in the doorway; beautiful picture of nature showing its power.

She suggested leaving the dew drops on the waxed paper for easy storage and to adhere to a project with mini glue dots.

I saw it this morning in the Gallery (the uploads from May 2, 2009). Of course :( , I didn't copy it and now can't find it...I'm thinking it was moved. The person who uploaded this fabulous technique had the instructions on her blog.

I'm always looking for ways to use my SU! products, and this technique fits the bill.

Thank you!

I've used hot glue gun for the dew drops and alcohol inks to color them but not crystal effects so i'm not sure but the hot glue dots are not great on waxed paper. I found it was better to use a silicone sheet and store in container after they are completely dry. Others have tried different papers and said that freezer paper works much better also the non stick foil was suggested by one person.

I'm going to try using Diamond Glaze/Crystal Effects. I tried the hot glue method, but I really didn't like the results. The shapes weren't consistent and usually had little glue "tails" on them. I never even thought of DG/CE. Thanks!

I'm going to try this today, now to find the glue sticks and glue gun. Need to look at the Diamond Glaze method as well.

Can you use su re-inkers to color the drops, or will it not work because they are water based?

SU reinkers will not work to color the dew drops made with hot glue. It tried it and they just beaded up. Use the alcohol ink. They turn out beautiful!

I am grateful for all your suggestions/ideas. I still haven't found exactly what I'm looking for...using Crystal Effects and reinkers. I think I'll just try it myself and see what happens. Have to order CE on my next order, though...don't have enough left in the bottle. :(

If I'm successful in my venture I'll upload in My Gallery and let you all know...might be a few weeks or a month though; have plenty of outdoor things to do this time of the year.

Hope y'all have a great week!!!!!

I used my Paper Glass Finish, which is very similar to Crystal Effects. The drops came out so cute! I didn't dye them, because I want clear drops. I plan to make another batch and color them with alcohol inks or Staz On re-inkers. Thanks for the suggestion to use CE.
