If you scroll down a bit in this forum, you'll find a post entitled, "crocheting your own fleurettes." Folks have posted a ton of links to crocheted flower patterns.
Thanls everyone!! I failed to notice that there was already a post for the Flourettes. I have already crocheted about a dozen flowers for my upcoming club meeting. I think the ladies will be quite pleased.
What are you ladies using to crochet them? Are you using crocheting cotton, embroidery floss, or yarn? I made one using yarn; and, although it came out beautifully, it also turned out huge. Way too big for a card or scrapbook.
I also use crochet cotton size 10. Pearl cotton also works well. I even tried dying white crochet thread with classic ink to match my cards. You must allow for complete drying time, or else you end up with inky fingers!!
Thanks, ladies. I just finished 2 flowers using white crochet cotton and a very small hook. Then I dipped them in some Ranger Wild Plum dye. They're drying now, and they look pretty good.
Thanks to whoever started this post!
I've been looking for patterns for quite a while. I had
some years ago, but have since lost them, so this is great!
While there are some great patterns in the other crocheting flowers thread, and available online. I picked up a book at JoAnns that is entiteled "crochet flowers" It's pink with lots of girly projects on the cover. But it was $9, and i used a 40% off coupon, and has about 10 different patterns and also leaves. And it also has some cute projects as well. Good to have something more visual.
Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. I have spent hours this afternoon reading, getting my hooks and yarn out, and crocheting. I haven't crocheted in years. I ended up having to go to the big hook and the bigger yarn to remember and actually see what I was doing. Hopefully, soon I will be turning out the embellishments that I can use for my cards!
