I have not tried this, but would it work the same way as in the video... to scallop an edge, then trim somewhat close and glue onto the back of your curved image.

Not sure - I'll have to try it when I get my punch back. I've loaned it to a friend, which is quite frustrating now I've heard about this technique.
I just tried it, it doesn't work. I did try to make tiny little snips on the flat side, it did make it easier to bend and I think with a ton of patience, it could work...but not for me.

Sorry.

I've done this with scallop edge punches and it worked fine for me... it just takes lots of tape on the main piece to hold it in place. I didn't think it was difficult at all. I did it with the MS Heart Lace punch most recently and that one is on my blog if you want to look.
I've just had a play at doing this and popped a tutorial on my blog, it's my first tutorial so be gentle with me!
It never occured to me to try this till I read this thread and now it's like 'doh I did I survive without it?' and 'why had I not tried it!'
That is exactly what I was trying but, I didn't actually glue it to anything. So I guess having the shape to glue the scallop to, really guides the trimmed piece around in a smoother way. When I tried it without the shape I'd get some nice curved areas, and then a tiny sort of corner. So I'm happy you tried it further, cause it does work. Yea!

I'm not seeing it on your blog, which card is it?

It also works very well if you make a longer piece of the scalloped edge, about twice the length you need to go around your image, and run it through the crimper first. Then it has the flexibility to bend and you can just put sticky strip on the back of your image and wrap it around, and cut off the excess.
