Default Crankin' out nugget boxes with my new Scor-Pal

First, my thanks to the genius who figured out the templates for all sizes of nugget boxes. However, I got tired of measuring out each box over and over again - those darn 1/8" measurements aren't good to my eyes! My boxes came out with different heights for each side and sometimes didn't fold right at all. Then I got a Scor-Pal... love it, love it, love it.

I figured out that if you rotate the Scor-Pal board around where the top is nearest you (the board will read upside down when you look at it), you can line up the edge of your box to be scored with the 1" line (which will be on your right) and score at 1-1/2" and 2-1/8" measurements marked on the board (the 2-1/8" measurement is the line with the dot on top of it just past the 2" mark). Rotate to score each side of your box - and you'll have perfect measurements and perfect sides each time. It took me less than an hour to make 30 boxes!!!!

Be sure to line the edge up with the 1" trough fully visible to make the 1/2" score as accurate as possible, otherwise it may be too wide to fold over into the box.

I only made box bottoms for 3 x 3 boxes - and used temporary dotto adhesive to secure my nuggets in the box, then put them in cello bags with toppers. Easy Easy... and very economical...

I don't have a scanner to show you guys what I did, so hopefully I've explained it well enough. Enjoy....

yes, 9 nuggets - the box itself isn't 3 inches by 3 inches. I used the template posted on SCS that has all sorts of sizes.

I've heard such good things about the Scor Pal - I'm going to look at that more after Christmas but it sounds like a good thing to have. I HATE measuring and scoring and yes, everything is 1/8 or 1/16th and its hard to see or count. And I love doing those nugget boxes and other things like that, and this tools sounds like it makes the work a lot easier!

Check out the new magazine (Nov-Dec) from scor-pal - I believe they have a tutorial for nugget boxes now.
