Default bleach stamping? ink pad?

a customer at my work said she saw a friend used something that looked like bleach to stamp, i saw a tutorial on here awhile ago that showed a lady using actual bleach to stamp. Does anyone know, is there an actual stamp pad that make something look bleached or actually bleach? Or what is the protocol to stamp with bleach?

You can make your own "stamp pad" with a paper towel by soaking it in bleach. You can even paint with bleach. Under the Resources section there is a tutorial. Hope this helps.

Default Bleach on paper towels

You can pour some bleach onto folded paper towels. I just fold then on a plastic plate. You can use that in place of an ink pad. It needs to be fresh, and varies with different papers. I also used a bleach gel pen and an aqua pen to apply the gel to areas of this card, after I had embossed the image

There's also an ink pad called Castaway that you can heat set with a heat gun or an old iron and it will make a bleached looking, "ghost" image like the bleach will. Although the pad is pricier, I don't think it's as messy or as smelly as bleach which can throw off some bad fumes especially if you can't open a window.

I have this pad and was disappointed in the results that I got from SU card stock. It worked so-so on cheap card stock, but with our thick and solid dyed card stock, it had little effect. Has anyone had any better luck with their Castaway pad?

Default Castaway Pad

I love the castaway pad, I iron directly onto my card stock with a craft iron and get great results, although I love bleaching as well, the best way is to emboss your image and then use aquapainters with bleach in, the ebossing will act as gutta so the bleach won't bleed into your project, I have some examples I can send you if you ping me an email,

Good Luck

Hmm. my instructor for the Castaway class actually said the pad works well on SU cardstock. She's not an SU demo so she wasn't trying to sell us stuff. I felt I got better results with using an iron and holding it in place (as opposing to using a back and forth ironing motion rather than using a heat gun. You also need to let the ink sit at least five minutes after stamping to soak into the paper. Finally, this ink pad does need to be reinked more often than some or the results will not be as good. Hope this helps you get better results.
