Default Beaded pens...do you have to use sticky tape

I am going to try make some beaded pens and i am wondering if you think it would work to roll the pen in Modpodge and then in the microbeads and glitter. the glue dries clear so wondering if that would be a cheaper way verses buying the Oh So sticky tape.

Hmmmm I would think that the glue would drip into the microbeads and glitter so
I would use a separate container where I put a measured amount into. Of course I could be totally wrong. If you do try it please share your results and tell us how it went.

I've heard that you can sponge Crystal Effects onto the pen and roll it in micro beads, but I havn't tried it. HTH

I've only tried the beaded pens with the redliner double sided sticky tape so I am curious how the Mod Podge and Crystal Effects works. I found out that over time the sticky tape loses it hold (though probably not before the pen would run out of ink lol).

IMHO... Crystal Effects is a better choice than Mod Podge. The C.E. is meant to stick to more types of materials. Mod Podge original purpose was for sticking paper to wood. Doesn't work quite as well on plastic, metal or glass.
