Does anyone know of instructions to making an advent calendar with a mini muffin pan????? I saw one and loved the idea but cannot find any instructions. I hope someone can help me:(
ADVENT CALENDAR: Create an advent calendar using a 24-cup mini-muffin pan. Add small items such as dollar-store toys, and cover each hole with a piece of cardboard covered with gift wrap. You can Velcro the pieces of wrapped cardboard to the muffin pan and simply remove one each day.

I know this isn't what you were looking for but I just love advent calendars and made this one from the word believe and folded 24 paper bags that can hold small goodies for the count down. Thanks for letting me share.
Since it isn't letting me put in a link, just go to my blog at
cherylhorton.typepad.com and scroll to the bottom. That's where my calendar is. Thanks again
Take your muffin pan, sand it a bit and then paint with acrylic paint (or use spray on paint). To cover the openings, cut or punch squares or circles of cardstock big enough to cover the openings, decorate each square or circle with stickers, embellishments etc.- don't forget to put the numbers on them. Next, punch or cut (circles or squares) the same size as your cardstock circles/squares from thin magnet sheets (available at Hobby Lobby, Michaels etc.) and attach the decorated cardstock circles/squares to the magnet pieces. Now all you have to do is fill your Advent calendar with candy etc. and cover each opening with one of the decorated magnets. If you want to add ribbon at the top for hanging, you can probably drill a hole at the top (if there isn't one already) or the crop-a-dile might work, too.
HTH! Hope my explanations are okay- I sometimes have a hard time writing down instructions so people can understand them.

yes, I do. Cut 24 2 1/8 inch squares of solid color card stock. Then cut 24 2 1/8 square of designer paper. Adhere together. Add self adhesive magenets to the backs of each on. Sand muffin tin, and paint off white. Punch 24 circles for inside each cupcake tin. Decorate each square however you like. I have a picture of mine I can email you if you like.
I would love to see a picture of one of these if you can post it! I think this would be a great idea to do on Thanksgiving. We always do a craft and the kids are getting older and like to do them with us. This would be a fun project. Thanks in advance!! I did see the other one that uses the round metal tins, but I think this might be easier to do with children.
