I keep wanting do do the socks but I can never find them on clearance like y'all seem to find. I like to get my stuff cheap if I can, too.
Thank you!! I kind of lucked out there. The manager of my local Ms is really awesome! If he sees they are going on sale/clearance, he lets me know! It's usually after Christmas clearance, but they sometimes have them in the Spring and Fall. Trouble is a lot of times it is the colors that are left, which isn't always a problem. :-) One year they had cute toe socks for little girls that we made some kids cupcakes up as well. I used a glue dot to adhere a red pompom "cherry" to the top of a DumDum lolipop. They sold like hot cakes!
We're at Ms so often that he gives my 8 yo son an employee discount. ;-)
Where do you get your composition notebooks, sticky pads, and pens?
Watch the back to school ads coming up and pick from there. Also pick up items after the sales have ended and school has started for the best clearance prices, usually Target or Walmart, but Walgreens and Office Max/Staples will have some good prices, too.

Where do you get your composition notebooks, sticky pads, and pens?
I know this is kind of last minute, but Walgreens has Mini comp books, and mini spiral notebooks on sale 6/$1 but it ends today.
Staples has Spiral Notebooks on sale for I $0.17 (limit 30); Reg. Composition books $0.50 (limit 30); 18 pk Post it note brand (3x3) for $10, The sale ends today, but next week the Spiral notebooks are still on sale (not sure about the rest of the stuff) PLUS today is the last day for getting an additional 20% off your purchase!!
Be careful with the Post It notes - there are now Super Sticky and regular. I accidentally bought the Super Sticky and they ripped the paper when I tried to remove them.
I sold my coaster post its for $3 - I put a magnet on the back for attaching to fridge. I also had the longer coasters (rectangle size) and put a small calendar on them - I think I may have charged $4 for the bigger one. Those always sell for me.
I want to trim the coasters down to a smaller size. I know they die cut well in my Big Shot, but am not sure what kind of trimmer blade would cut through them.
Hi Ladies - I haven't visited this thread in a while. Wanted to share this link on Pick Your Plum, an online store that sends me emails. They are selling decorated wooden clothespins at $2.99 for 8 of them! I thought some of you might want to make some of these for your craft fairs.
I make these all the time and use them with gift bags. They are a great way to use up little scraps of paper. Sometimes I put an acrylic stone on the end to fancy them up.

They are 5" x 7" and made just like the big ones with hard covers and sewn pages. They were on sale for 50 cents and I used the 20% off my purchase coupon so I paid 40 cents each. They have different color bindings, not just black. Michael's has a 15% off total purchase coupon right now so you could still save is your store has some of these comp books. I bought my big comp books from Walmart, price matching a 10 cent price in the Office Max ad. I know the little ones cost more, but they are so cute I couldn't resist!

Am wondering if I should package with a pen, and not sure what kind of pen if I do that. Thoughts?
Diane, you can always to the RSVP pens with a comp book and put a piece of matching paper inside the tube so that it matches the paper you decorated the book with. I also love making the beaded pens, but it's work and materials and would up the price for sure!!

Does anyone have the measurements for these notepads using the Walmart memo pads (5 x 7)? Most of the tutorials I have found must be for memo pads from Staples or Office Depot that have more pages than the Walmart pads. I want to use the thinner Walmart pads to keep costs down. Has anyone made these and would share score lines measurements? I seem to be "math challenged"

I haven't made these, but I may be able to help with the "math" part. Do you want the whole pad covered? If so, flip it open from the side or top? and how thick is the note pad? (measure it at the top, where it the thickest) I'll then give you the score lines.

Let some scrap paper do the math for you. Cut it to the rough dimensions for the top/bottom and then fold over the pad. You'll get your side creases and if you push on other side, you'll get the other side as well. You could increase your final cover to overlap the pads just a bit.
This doesn't take the pens into account but I guess I am not sure about how you're attaching them since I'm thinking they'd be thicker than the pads. I think you could also incorporate them into your rough template if they will lay next to the pads.
Thanks so much for your help. The Notepads I am wanting to make are the ones that resemble the post it note holders with the pens. There is a "well" on the left side and a slit that holds the RSVP pen. I downloaded the directions for making the "big" version, so maybe if I play around with scrap paper I can figure out how much smaller to the side tabs.
I just finished making 120 snowman hugs for my craft shows this year. The picture is posted to my gallery. I made 100 last year and sold out at my second show. I'm prepared this year.....I purchased some extra nugget wraps to cover any snowman avalanche that might occur at the shows.

I have just finished making a variation of these - instead of just one each, I put three in a vertical row on a backing piece of paper, and then decorated the three together to look like 1 snowman - the top one with the little hat and face, the middle one with 2 buttons, and the bottom with 1 button. Put the whole thing into a pretzel bag, tied with a ribbon.

Would love to see a picture. I made the nugget snowmen one year and they sold like hotcakes. I had little bags and ribbon, and I tied them up pretty for anyone who wanted them bagged. I also make the mini Hershey bar snowman, with a sewn fleece hat and they sell well for me.

I'm planning on doing like you did Gina and making the mini candy bar ones. I just scaled down that snowman candy bar wrapper from Laurie Furnell. I plan to use several different varieties of the Hershey mini candy bars. (I guess I don't mean the mini mini ones I do other things with but the kind you can get at Walmart or the $ store. There are usually 6-10 packs of candy bars) Anyway, the hats are just the glove fingers so I picked up a bunch of pairs of black gloves when Walmart had them on clearance. I noticed that Knox had put some little doo dads on her hats. They are really cute! I was just going to hot glue pom poms on the top of mine but if someone wants to do some cute elements, have you see the tutorial on Pinterest on how to melt thos beads down into the enamel type dots. Looks really cool!
How much did everyone sell these mini candy bars for? How about the 1 nugget?

I forgot to add- I bought the candy bars in the big bags for much cheaper than the 6/$1.00 packs. I also only used the regular Hershey bars because of allergy issues. It made life simpler. I use all different types of candy bars for the bigger snowmen, including M&M's and those sell really well for me. But for the mini ones it was too much hassle to keep cutting the papers different sizes. I also sewed my hats out of fleece scraps, and one size does not fit all, so it was easier to stick to just the Hershey's bars. I make two different size hats for the large bars and two sizes of wrappers and this has worked for all the different candy bars I've used.
Taylorjudi...good point about the larger bags of candy bars! And the allergy issues. I definitely take that into consideration myself. I was telling on the other craft fair post about the lady who had the booth behind me (meaning we were butted up against each other) who is allergic to chocolate! Yikes! Made it interesting trying to arrange my booth since so much of my stuff is chocolate candy items. =(
I'm looking to add some new things to my table this year, and would like to do a tea bag holder of some sort...any ideas that sell well out there?

I find that inexpensive folder styles are good. People don't want to spend alot on them, no matter how cute they are. But tea gifts are popular, especially with seniors. This is one simple idea.

Diane have you ever tried selling teabags? Just curious. I have 2 weeks til my first show and I am not sure how I am going to get the stuff I need done. So I certainly dont need to add things. ☺️

Yes. I make sure to have them on my table every year. I usually stick w one style of tea (earl grey) as it is broadly popular. People ask about other flavours but I just tell them they could change the tea bag out if it is really important. I tried to have a mix of flavours one year and it just led to problems with people picking through and spending time hogging space at my table blocking my other items for a low cost tea bag. I keep the price cheap $2 or less, and use cheaper papers for that reason.

Great idea!! I make my KCup keepers every year and one last was mad that I didnt offer decaf KCups. I dont drink coffee so I stick to flavors that my hubby and daughter drink along with hot cocoa. That way if they dont sell I can take the KCups out they drink them and the next year I put fresh I ones in the holders. 🙂
