Well, here we are in December. I had been thinking of the telescoping snowman as a fun technique, but then thought that maybe many people are already finished with Christmas 23 as far as cards go, and that perhaps I should go non-Christmas. So I went back to an Inkling Tutorial from Spring 2020 that I have always wanted to try -
Faux Die-cut Inlay.
I have never been sure what dies I had that would work, but when I thought about it, I realised I had several that would be good, although both the ones I ended up using have minimal inlay it certainly saves on cutting from multiple different colours of paper/card.
I would point out that if you use what Ardyth has as steps 4 - 7, adding an extra layer of colour, you may well end up with some actual real inlay as I did on my star card. In this case, as with all inlays, make sure to keep the tiny little itty bits! But if you just go from step 3 to finishing your card, it's super-easy.

Once you've created your card, upload it to the Faux Die-Cut Inlay gallery (Technique Spotlight from the first drop-down, Faux Die-Cut Inlay from the second) using the keyword
TLC980.
