This week's challenge is Faux Embossing, and the idea was sent to me by 'the_mad_stamper'. She saw the technique in a magazine, and thought it would be perfect for us!
Here's Tina's description of the technique: All you do is punch out two of the same shape and layer them together (for double thickness) then you put them on a background of the same color.
I can't wait to see what you all come up with using this technique...what a great idea with the new punch available!
As always, if you have questions, please ask. If you have suggestions, please share!
When you upload, please put TLC55 in the keyword section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!

Yeah, I love this look and just haven't played with it myself (which is silly since I seem to be inept at dry embossing). I will definitely be working on this!
Beth, looks interesting. Wish I had the new punch! Guess I will have to see what I can come up with using my boring old ones! Thanks Beth again for your challenges.
Sounds like fun. It's going to take me a while to get to this one though as I've fallen behind in my "real work" :( At least it gives me something to look forward to.
This is so cool! I only have the word window punch and a teeny tiny heart one. I will have to see if I have the patience to use that little one. My flower punch should be here in about 10 days so I can always play then. Great challenge!!! Who knew there were so many cool techniques?

Great challenge! I have seen a few cards done on SCS with this technique and thought it would be neat to try. Thanks for your faithful challenge posting, Beth!
I am hoping to participate this week.... sounds easy and fun! My Daisy punch has been on backorder, and I have no way to track it (even though it has been sent). I don't have the new punch, (sigh), so I will have to "make do" with what I have.
I hope to post later today or tomorrow morning! Happy Monday, all! ;)
I remember when the mad stampers card was uploaded~it's wonderful! What a great technique to try, I can't wait to see what everyone does with it. Will get to this later, try to do one more for last weeks cc (still have 4 left!). Have a great day and thanks Beth!
Well, where have I been that I've never seen this technique. Like Jeanne, I have a ton (at least it feels like they weigh that much) of punches. The hard part will be deciding which one(s) to use!
And wouldn't you know. I stepped away from stalking.... ummm, the computer... to finish a card & come back & here you are, Beth. Great challenge!
Location: In my Happy Place with no one bothering me....I hope!

OK.... not real wild about this and will do another, but I like the effect! Great challenge Beth!! Thanks for challenging us each week!!
I may add more punches to the bottom part. Let me know what you think!
WOW WOW WOW!!!! Thank You so much Beth. It is definately cool to have my card as the example for this weeks challenge. I am soooo anxious to see what these talented ladies come up with. Happy Stamping Everyone!!!
HMMMM....have only one punch that MIGHT work...might have to do it the old fashioned way (scissors)....hopefully I'll get to play...might have to persuade younger DS to have a playdate vs do the fun activity at older DS's school!!
Well, I have to pat myself on the back...I called this one. My original post to the_mad_stampers thread said it would be a challenge soon and hers would be the example...now if only I could see into the future of what I can make to even remotely compare to her gorgeous card! But, just got the punch in the mail today so, we'll see ...

I used my xyron wit the punched out flowers but there was still a lot of adhesive around the edges to remove. Thanks for the challenge, Beth. Have we ever done the other dry embossing technique as a challenge? The kind where you stamp in a color and then overstamp in white? I will go check.
Here is mine. It is still pending...all three babes here sleeping at the same time (wooo hooo), so I need to get something done. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
