Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!! Since the BBQ is all gone and the firecrackers are all spent it's now time to get down and inky!!! How about a fun and easy challenge using some of those embossing folders you have that are collecting dust.....we are going to *color the texture*!! Here are the deets:
1. Dry emboss a piece of light colored cardstock with an embossing folder. 2. Color the textured embossed area with markers, Copics, watercolors, Gelatos, pencils, or any other medium you choose. 3. Do not put your color on the folder and then emboss....that is a different technique altogether.
I have a special guest today who's beautiful card was the inspiration for my challenge... drum roll please!!!! Kittie Caracciolo!!!!
Joan, your card is amazing! I will give it a try, but know mine won't look that good!
tomorrow.., I am heading to bed and just checked on the challenge.
This is a fun technique to do, and I haven't done it in a little while. Thanks for the inspiration to pull out some of my embossing folders! Can't wait to play!
Joan, great challenge! Here's my card. Now if I could only stay awake! LOL

Joan- awesome challenge! I often forget the simplest tools can have the most impact! I used a sweet tulip/watering can stamped image from a stamping buddy, outlined in pink and green marker and lightly colored- then rubbed light green ink on my embossed tulip frame. Did a handwritten sentiment. Done! Here's Pretty Tulips

Thanks for the fun challenge, Joan! It's been a while since I've done this technique and I just love it. Here's my Holiday Season. Thanks so much for looking!
I had fun doing a rose card- with two different embossed panels- rubbed with ink. Found this old fashioned bunny and goose stamp in my shopping trips- thought it went well with these embossed roses. Added a ribbon border and tied bow. Here's Lovely Roses

Well, I finally had time to try this, that's about all I can say! The gallery is certainly beautiful today with cards by those who can do this technique well!
Ever since I saw Kittie's card last week, I've been itching to give this technique a try. Thanks, Joan, for giving me the little push I needed to get it done. It wasn't as easy as I though it was going to be, but I'm fairly pleased with the results.

Joan, here is mine, a little late. I had done it on Monday, but just left it on my desk not knowing how to finish it up. Here is God's Colors.
Thank you!
I made 4 cards for this challenge and then when I went back to post them saw that I had not read the instructions very well. I missed #3 altogether so I had done the other technique. So I might get a card done this week in the right technique.
