Here is my 2nd one. I like the dark background with the reinkers better than the watercolor crayons-I just could not get it dark enough for my liking the 1st time:( .
Buggy Batik
Cam came home talking about ticks at preschool, so I guess it made me think of bugs, LOL (but these are MUCH cuter than TICKS!)

Great challenge. I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to try this one.

You're very welcome, Beth. I really had to search to find one that hadn't been done (and looked do-able).

With a bunch of subs I should be able to do this technique. I definitely have the coffee filters - we've got the package from Costco. I hope to get some time to try this out - it looks great.

I am really liking this technique! I haven't used Mulberry in years. I'm actually surprised I still have some (and that I could find it!)

Here's my card for today - I don't think I chose the greatest image to use for this technique; it maybe needed to be a little bolder like the stamp in the tutorial. Anyway, this was fun, and the first time I'd tried it, so a great challenge!

here is my
Mulberry Thanks . It took awhile (first attempt stuck to the copy paper and tore miserably when I tried to remove it), is messy and I don't know if it came out right (Still kinda shiny from the EP, and I ironed with new copy paper several times --maybe more like 5-6!) but I used my new BUG, so it's all good!

This was fun but I think the mulberry paper that I used was a bit to thin. Oh well, maybe I'll dig out more later and try again.

Thanks for holding the down fort today, Melody. Now how come a quilter came up with a fabric-ish technique?
Here is mine. It was an excuse to get out my Beautiful Batik set, which is hard to use. This technique and this set are made for each other!

My batik was a bust! I tried twice but couldn't get it to look right. So, I'll just have to look at the posted cards and be jealous. Oh, well -- I can't do cracked glass either!

Have had a very sick dog/friend/buddy here this weekend and spent most of this day at the vets office. I wish I had been here instead to make more of these - what a fun technique - I certainly will be doing more. Thanks, Melody for posting.

Well, I must say that this WAS a BIG challenge for me. Tired the technique a few times and really didn't like my results. I finally got frustrated and embossed a few extra bugs on top of the mulberry after I played with the paper forever!!!! Think I'll have to practice this one quite a bit to get the results that I would like

OK, my first attempt the mulberry paper ended up sticking to the copy paper when I ironed it. Anyone else have this problem? Know how to solve it?

Yes, I did, but found out if you iron over it again, you can peel it off best when it's warm. HTH

I did... it was still stuck. My iron does not have a medium setting. Maybe I had too hot or not hot enough? I'm going to go try it again! Thanks!

Mine stuck to the paper too. How many times do you iron it? I used mulberry paper and reinkers. Does the paper need to be dry when you iron it? Thanks for any help you can give.
