Todays TLC was suggested by Chris/inkpad. The technique is Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon and check this out: Best Witches
Isnt that FUN? Thank you so much Chris for the tutorial!
Here are a few tips that I would like to add after trying the technique:
While fabric shears are not required, SHARP scissors are essential!! You will make yourself crazy trying to trim off the selvage of the ribbon with dull scissors.
I used the point of the scissors to pull out the end of the long fibers while I held the long edge of the ribbon with the selvage still attached firmly to the table with my fingernail.
When I did my tag, I actually threaded the ribbons thru the hole BEFORE I frayed them. I did one side of the ribbon and then slid the ribbon a little bit to the other side of the tag and repeated the process. Another idea to manage all those long fibers is to wrap one end of the ribbon securely with regular scotch tape, fray and then thread through the hole of the tag with the wrapped end and cut off the tape.
Please use the keyword TLC106 and be sure to separate additional keywords with a comma (not a space) otherwise the gallery search function wont work right. J
OHMYGOODNESS! I looked at this and had a total DUH moment (slaps forehead!). I can't believe I never thought of fraying grosgrain. What a totally superfabulous idea! I love it. I will MAKE time to play on this one. Thanks Beth and Chris.
This looks so cool! I can't wait to try later tonight... or it might be tomorrow because I'm pretty busy today... well, if my doctor tells me I can't teach dance tonight, then I might have more time on my hands! LOL! I hate being sick, but when the doctor orders you to stay down, that's kind of nice sometimes! HAHA!
OK, I'll have to play later... time for a shower, teaching dance at the daycare, and doctor... then maybe I can catch a few minutes to do this challenge this afternoon HAVE FUN!
Beth, thanks for the great challenge...the samples are awesome. I NEVER would have thought of doing this! How cool!

I just had to come back here and post one more time. I am not sure how many of you have done this before. For me this is the first. It works like a charm, and I think this is so neat and pretty. Hope everyone has fun doing this. Great idea. Love it.
