Dogtown 500...Charity Run and Fashion Show
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Spring is nearly here and along with that come thousands and thousands of race fans to Daytona. Spending money and living it up. Well, the folks down the road in Dogtown have watched this for decades now and they have finally come up with a plan to entice some of those tourists and their money to their town. So the Dogtown 500 is set for it's debut run this spring.
2: But unlike that race, this one won't involve souped up engines, or pit stops, or crashes. This one will involve lots and lots of dogs running around the track for prizes, obstacle courses, jumping through hoops and over fences, and lots and lots of treats. And then once the track has been cleared (and cleaned) from all of that activity; the fashion show to end all fashion shows will begin.
3: It has been rumored that Priscilla Pring that world famous poodle model is going to be the showstopper. She has been featured on covers of all the best Doggie magazines and captured by paparazzi near and far as she jets around the globe in her famous outfits and all her diamonds. All of the best doggie couture designers have signed on to bring their newest designs and at least 42,000 vendors of all things doggie have been arriving in town for days now.
4: The festival air is hard to miss; what with all the tents and flags flying, and the booths going up, and the near constant yelping and barking being heard from all corners of town as the contestants and models arrive.
5: And the Festival director; Miss Penelope Posh herself is in a rather fine state of near hysteria trying to keep the peace between the dog owners and the model handlers. And then there are the millions of other little chores that she is checking off her list to get done. She is really going to be ready for a massage when this is done. But the signs are good for it being a success as folks are starting to arrive already and camping out at the fairgrounds so they can get good seats at the start of the festivities.
6: So teapotters, along with a prayer for Miss Penelope Posh, it looks like she could use some help with all those chores. And she didn't ask us to help with the pooper-scoopers so we should be able to make short work of this list.
