Those Signs Should Be Brightened, But Now We're Just Frightened!

This is my story!
Actually, before I get to the story, I wanted to share that last month I got to meet our Sheri aka KSNURSE IRL!! She is simply the most delightful, beautiful and amazing lady - it was such a gift to be able to spend some time with her. The fact that she can work night shift and coordinate the Teaparties is astounding. Mwwwaaaaahhhh Sheri! Now, onto the story:
1. Gertie Gussie is the most gregarious gal in Gainsville. She is always talking to someone, sharing a story and often a giggle - she sure does know how to make other people happy - and that makes her happy too!
2. Even though she herself was getting up there in the birthday candle count Gertie runs a sort of a taxi service. She drives all kinds of people to doctor appointments, the bank and post office, grocery shopping, over to visit sick friends and just about any errand you could imagine. Sometimes she will just take someone for a ride on a sunny Sunday so that they can get out of the house...and of course she won't accept money, even for gas.
3. One rainy evening Gertie was in a part of town that she doesn't usually frequent. She came up to an intersection that wasn't well marked and missed seeing a yield sign. It seemed that the other car came out of nowhere and Gertie had caused a fender bender.
4. The young policeman who came to investigate was trying to make a name for himself on the force. He asked Gertie to read a sign well down the road. When Gertie couldn't read it, he gave her a ticket and took away her drivers license, telling her that she would have to get some specs before she would be able to get her driving privileges reinstated.
5. Poor Gertie! Poor Gainsville!! How can the 42,000 people of town ever be able to get where they are going?? If that sign had been brighter Gertie surely would have seen it and none of this ever would have happened. Oh Gertie we need you, the cop only squeezed you. Those signs should be brightened, but now we're just frightened!
6. I guess that this is where we come in, Teapotters. Gainsville needs to be a bit brighter, don't you think? And while we're at it, maybe we could get that rookie policeman a sense of humor...
