Peace, Love, and Lava Lamps
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! The Rest of the Story:
1: Spring is coming...It really is....Even if Mother Nature seems to be having a fit lately. And what is the first thing a lot of us think about before Spring and the lazy days of Summer get here? Well, that ol Spring cleaning of course...And Fergie (no, not that one doing the naughty things and getting in the papers) is no exception...she loooooves her some Spring cleaning time....but not cuz she has any intention of cleaning...No'siree....but she can't wait to start hittin the garage sales....What's one person's trash is another one's treasure don't y'know....Whooooeeee!!! Fergie loves them garage sales...always lookin for a bargain or a freebie. It's become a ritual for her to hit the streets before dawn looking for sales and curb side specials...(them be the freebies y'know)....dressed in her tie-dyed splendor with beads flashin and birkies flappin, she's on the hunt. Fergie has quite a few collections she's passionate about but none of them catch her fancy like them lava lamps....Now those just entertain her for hours with their wild colors and forms....
2: Lately she's been hearin all about this "worlds longest yard sale" and thinkin maybe she should try some new huntin grounds this year. She's thinkin she would surely find some prizes somewhere in the 690 mile long sale...WHOOOTT!! Why just look what they have to say about it:
"It is aptly titled, �The Worlds Longest Yard Sale!� Every year individuals clean out their closets and stake out their front yards along the Hwy 127 corridor stretching over 690 miles from Addison, Michigan to Gadsden, Alabama. They band together as communities, in groups or as individuals and over a four-day weekend they welcome the onslaught of visitors from the North, South East and West. It is a mutual exchange of cultures with a common goal; to look, buy and sell! As you drive the country roads, you will hear a collection of dialects, be privy to incredible stories related to the individuals and the items they sell and see a plethora of items that only your grandmother could love.
WHOOOTT!! Don't that sound fun....Fergie is sure to stir somethin up along the way. As she loads a cooler with snackage for the trip she feels that ol tingly jingly feeling settin in and she's sure she's gonna have a successful hunt.
3: WHEEE!! She finally made it to the starting point and she's feelin the vibe and listenin to the hollerin of the crowd and the sellers both....yep, it's gonna be a good day....
4: But, wait....why is everyone lookin at her like that....and whisperin to each other....and straining their necks to see what she's lookin at? Seems that someone let the cat out and now everyone knows that the famous (or infamous) Fergie is here....It's well known in junkin circles that whatever she is hooked on will be the next big thang....and guaranteed to sell out of the shops and stalls. Oh dear...now she just knows that she won't find that prize lava lamp before someone else nabs it....Darn....what she needs is a diversion....someone to hint around that she's lookin for gumball machines or some other such silliness....but who is there to help her...she doesn't know anyone here....Well, as luck would have it, someone overheard her mutterin to herself and lo and behold...them crazy teapotters just happen to be havin a convention right here along with a little junkin....never know what you'll find to adorn a card at a good garage sale....So a plan was cooked up right then and there...y'know them teapotters can plan too....and they looooove to talk on them cell phones don't y'know....they'll get the word goin down the line like a party line ain't never seen before.....
5: Yep, teapotter's we've gotta help a fellow thrifter out and be on the lookout for some nifty hippie stuff at the same time....painted Elvis on velvet anyone??.....we're sure to find it here....
Challenge Translation:
Be there or be square....The 60's is where it's at this week....bring the tie-dye, the smilies, the love beads, the peace signs, rock and roll and the lava lamps. But don't bring any real bugs or you go to the back of the bus... **and scripture is ok

Nope, I can't see them either, but Sheri was having troubles with the challenge this week and couldn't email the cheaters so Im guessing this is a carry over. I'll just get busy on a card and hope any "bugs" are worked out before I post....
It's not the best picture. I took it with my phone. I had taken some with my camera but the poppy parade paper did not show up very bright. Hope we send lots of cheer to Lesley this week!

I spent some time with Lesley today, she is doing great but her treatment was cancelled this week because of low blood count. We are not sure if that is a good thing or not. Very confusing.

Here's mine - a quick one because we're off travelling over Easter - so forgive me if I don't get to comment on all the cards in the gallery this week.
Yup, the teapotters can plan and from the bottom of my heart I thank all of you.
I spent some time with Lesley today, she is doing great but her treatment was cancelled this week because of low blood count. We are not sure if that is a good thing or not. Very confusing.
A low white blood count means that you don't have much immunity to fight anything. At this point she should not be exposed to anyone with a cold or anything else. And her body will not have any strength to handle the chemo.

Hello everyone, I have an update on Lesley. First of all I would like to thank you for all the cards she received, pictures do not capture the beautiful masterpieces you have created.
Lesley and her family are overwhelmed by your generosity.
Lesley has taken a turn for the worst. She had a stroke last Thursday and is not expected to return home. The family is talking pallative care and hospice. My heart is hurting.
Your prayers and love sent to Lesley are very much appreciated.
