You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
The Rest of the Story:
1: Over yonder and down the lane where the willow trees line the river is where you could always find MeLissa (or Lil Missy as everyone calls her) running through the grasses and the willows singing and humming. That girl was always singing or humming some bars she was enchanted with at the moment. She could play many instruments and although the piano was always her favorite, she occasionally would take her flute down to the river and play for the birds and the fairies. That was the one thing that was always constant, the music. If she was taking a bath she was singing, if she was doing her chores she was singing, if she was taking goodies to the neighbors she was singing...always the music with that one.
2: As years went by, the music never left her. Always playing and practicing some kind of music; the genre didn't really matter, if she liked the tune she would play it, sometimes to the exclusion of everything else. The piano had become her main means of expression and one could tell by her choice of music if she was feeling happy, sad, or (heaven forbid) angry at the world. Those angry days, most people made a wide berth around her until the music choices changed to a somewhat calmer tune.
3: More years went by and Lil Missy found herself with a degree in music and a job in the big city teaching. Oh my, she thought this was going to be "The Life". There were concerts, and recitals, and live bands, and piano bars and a multitude of other musical venues to explore. And explore them she did. Every week-end would find her tracking down another musician she had heard about and staying out late into the night absorbing the music, the big city vibe, and living the life of the city girl.
4: But things started to turn after a few years of this and the lights didn't seem as bright, the streets looked dirtier, the music seemed off key and her own music started becoming more and more gloomy. Friends all told her, "Hey c'mon", "Get your glad on", "You just need to party a little and get back in the swing". But none of this was going to fix the heart of a country girl who was longing for just a little bit of green. Nowhere in this concrete jungle could you find anthing remotely resembling a river or a willow tree. She was longing for the simpler days of her youth. She was stuck here for now under contract and even a short trip to the country seemed like an impossible dream. The Blues had never been her style but lately that is what she seemed to identify with and it was beginning to depress even her.
5: In an effort to brighten her spirits, her friends got together and tried to come up with a plan. They sat around talking and planning, planning and talking but no one really came up with a workable idea. The general favorite was "If we can't get her to the country, then lets bring the country to her". But that was as far as it got. How on earth do you bring the country to the middle of the big city?!?!?! Rut-Roh, teapotters this sounds like they are in need of some serious help. Seriously haven't these people ever heard of a park??? or a balcony garden??? or potted plants??? Surely the 42,000 of us can each bring a bit of nature to soothe the musicians soul. That's your mission gals, soothe the blues right outta this place.
Challenge Translation:

This week we are visiting a little known town of Derby, Kansas. So if you want a destination for your card this week, how about sending it to my friend Harriet Williams. She would so enjoy them.
For the reason behind this story and an address go to post 398 in the Destination Station.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT294 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Sheri (KSNurse) permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send her a pm with your email address if you wanna be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges.
Aw, Sheri - I know what it's like not to be able to play music when you want to! I think I have the perfect happy music stamp to bring along for your friend, but I may not get it made and uploaded today. If I use the stamp I'm thinking of, I'll bring along some "country mice", LOL.
