Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: Jennifrann/Jen
CHALLENGE: Today is 8/8 and our recipient has an 8 year old son, so let's put 8 of something on our cards today. Be creative!
CARD TYPE/THEME: Hugs, cheerful, thinking of you
Amber, the wife of a former classmate of mine, had a terrible grilling accident on Father's Day. She spent several weeks in the hospital recovering while her husband, Allen, had to help their two kids wrap up the school year and start the summer. Allen was also just recovering from shoulder surgery and couldn't work or do much around the house. They were very lucky to have a lot of support from the community. I thought the Teapotters could send some well wishes to Amber as she continues to recover from severe burns from her face to her knees. Amber is a wonderful mom who is very involved in the kids' school and always cheering them on. Her 10 year old daughter is a talented gymnast and her 8 year old son plays soccer, baseball, and basketball. They love all the local sports teams - New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, New England Revolution (soccer).

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to Jennifrann via PM or e-mail [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.
Yikes, Caterina. I read that your area had been hit hard with storms. I hope all is well with your family and neighborhood and that power can be restored quickly. I saw a pic of downed power lines littering a street and it looked like a huge job to get things up and running there again. Stay safe,
Jen, I was just addressing my envelope for Amber and realized here home address is "8" also. I don't know the significance of the number "8" but it looks like it's Amber's number right now. Stuff like that always fascinates me...but I can be easily amused.
Well Debbie got to the 8 for the address before me...she was exceptionally brilliant because Amber's last name is La Mere, which means the sea. Debbie, did you plan to feature the sea in your card because of that??!!! You are exceptionally brilliant.

I did not Jean. It was just a happy coincidence and I love that you pointed it out to me. Originally I was going for Bucks, Bulls, Rams, Bears, Cubs...but couldn't come up with a cohesive scene. Then I found Mo's image with the pirate and the crow (raven) in the Crow's nest and went that direction. Thanks to all for your huge compliments. I had fun trying to figure out how to put those emblems into the card.
Here's my card for Amber with 8 flowers. I had bought the Concord & 9th die set last weekend at an estate sale for a wonderful crafter, Jeannie, who passed away in a tragic car accident last spring. I know she'd be happy to see her supplies used to bring someone else some cheer.
