Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: jacqueline/Jacqueline
CHALLENGE:
Hugs are good for the soul. They’re good for our mental, emotional, physical and even spiritual health. Hugs are comforting – they make us feel warm, appreciated, loved. Our recipient, Kati, is faced with the challenge of her life and I want her to feel the power of our hugs (albeit paper) as though we were in the room physically hugging her. Find inspiration from the poem below to create your paper hug for Kati.
A Hugby Ron Tranmer
When sorrow enters life
and heartstrings feel a tug,
nothing brings more comfort
than the giving of a hug.
Words, though well intended,
cannot ever take the place
of sweet unspoken feelings
through a tender, warm embrace.
In our arms there is compassion
and the power to impart
the purest form of love…
For a hug speaks to the heart.
CARD TYPE/THEME: Thinking of You; Hello; Hugs; Comfort. Please, NO Get Well cards.
This week's Guest of Honor is Kati Walmsley and was suggested by Jen's Aunt Cindy. Aunt Cindy's niece, Kati, is at home under hospice care. Her doctors don't know how much longer she will live, but they know they can't help her. Kati is only about 30 years old. She is depressed and not taking many visitors. Her mother, Jane, is so thankful for all of you. She tells us that Kati is an artist who loves drawing with charcoal, a photographer, a gardener, and a wonderful cook. Kati loves kids, music, the beach, and boating.

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to Jennifrann via PM or e-mail Jennifer at [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.
My heart goes out to both Kati and her family. Good thing my postman comes late to my neighborhood so I will still be able to get this in today's mail.
I have this card going to Kati. It was created in 2018 and is still in my stash, along with many others. Not thrilled for the situation Kati is in, but thrilled that this card may brighten her day for a little while.
God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us ... being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8 & 9
Hello friends! I wanted to let you know that Kati is feeling those hugs. I received a message from her this week:
"I just want to say a BIG HUGE THANK YOU!!!! For thinking of me. The cards have been such a blessing. I still haven't opened all of them. I've been saving them for rainy days when I'm feeling down, or sicker than usual. They truly warm my heart and put a smile on my face."
Kati and her parents are extremely grateful for you!
