MMTPT #239 ~February 26, 2013 ~ What Goes Around Comes Around
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY
THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TEAPARTY
AND CHALLENGE #239
What Goes Around Comes Around
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! You automatically become a Teapotter the first time you play in our challenge. Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun! If this is your first Teapot Tuesday Challenge, please mention that in your commentary so we can be sure to greet you properly, in pure Teapot Tuesday fashion! Your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not at all required. Just have fun!
This is my story!
What goes around comes around - it's really what Tickle a Teapotter is about. Every other week we mail our cards off to the Destination Station, or maybe our own destination, but this week we get our own happy mail.
My story starts with a history lesson, so gather round and listen up...
A long time ago (July '08 )...
in a far off galaxy (Cindy's GLOB aka blog, currently sealed away in cyberspace)...
an idea was born.
There had been an inspiration challenge in March (IC121), where you had to make a card inspired by something in your house - and surprise, surprise, da Mudder made a card inspired by something in her teapot collection. But hey - that was only one teapot, she had a whole collection of teapots, and that was only a drop in the ocean compared with all the other teapots out there, so why not make a card inspired by another one...and another one...and another one...
And so Teapot Tuesdays were born.
I remember the first card. 2008 was long enough ago ;-) that I still dealt with inspiration challenges in a very literal fashion, and a July 5th celebration with Stars and Stripes wasn't much use to me, but #2 was a lovely pot with a big white daisy and a little ladybug (the first of many!!! Take a bow, Lou-la-Bella). I was in...
Time passed, as it does, and in August 2009 the challenge found a permanent home here at SCS; the rest is history - and you're all part of it!
TPT#10 was a lovely little tea set, and that's where we take a sudden jump in hyperspace and land in the here and now, with a pit-stop along the way for re-fuelling.
In 2010 that little tea set got lovingly packed up and sent to NJ as a gift to Lorraine (pidgesmom). Later that year we had the first birthday party for Eula (how sad that there won't be one this year), and the expression "Sisterhood of the Travelling Tea-Party) was born out of a conversation between Lorraine and Cindy.
Fast forward to this Christmas and the same little tea set was lovingly packed up again and arrived here for Christmas. (Rather reminds me of a silver ball containing bath salts my sister once gave me, and in it was a note that after using the bath salts, you could put your own treat into it and gift it to somebody else).
So here and now in this galaxy my idea for this tickle challenge was born - what goes around, comes around...
If you're interested in seeing the original gallery for the travelling tea set, it's HERE
CHALLENGE TRANSLATION: Be inspired by the tea pot.
EPEC ~ (EXTRA POINTS FOR EXTRA COOKIES!) Extra extra cookies if you make a ROUND card, extra cookies if you at least use circles on your card .
DESTINATION STATION:
The Destination this week is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other! A little payback and reward to the teapotters for always sending their cards to the recipient of the Destination Station.
It is our goal to surprise each and every Teapotter that is participating in this monthly card swap by each of us sending a handmade card to another! You know, give them a little tickle!
This week is Tickle A Teapotter Week!
To see how this is accomplished please visit Post 338 in the Teapot Tuesday Destination Station thread. Please remember that just because you participate in a Teapot Tuesday challenge that is combined with a card drive request, it does not mean that you are REQUIRED to send your cards. It is totally 100% voluntary!
Be sure to use KEYWORD MMTPT239 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? SCS has given Sheri (KSNurse) permission to create an email Teapot Tuesday Cheater Group and email the challenge out on the Saturday before the Tuesday of the challenge so you girls can have the weekend to make your card. Send her a pm with your email address if you want to be a Cheater!
If you are confused about these challenges, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges. Feel free to grab this I survived Teapot Tuesday Badge for your blog!
The girls are getting the teapotter birthday bash set up and the cookies are coming outta the oven...oooh it smells good in here....Only 1 birthday girl this week but I know we'll have a bang-up bash anyway.....so lets all let her know we haven't forgotten

I'm on holidays for 3 weeks and Sabrina kindly let me know in advance this weeks theme. I took very limited supplies but interpreted "What goes around...etc" as returning something received to complete the circle. My card is made of bits and bobs received through the years from fellow teapotters. Thanks Kathy for the cute little poodle image. HERE is mine.
Sabrina, thanks for the history lesson! It was fun to look back at that first tea party gallery - I noticed it began on a smaller scale - look how it has grown. Our "membership" has evolved as well - makes me wonder what has happened to some. I am afraid I will also be wasting - er, spending - some time finding my first card. I know I was intimidated and lurked for a while before I was brave enough to join in!
What fun this is Sabrina! Geeze...going back and looking was pretty fun! Many of you are *very seasoned* teapottes! How cool is that! That was a long time ago but it doesn't feel that long ago, how time flies when you are having fun. I agree with Dorothy, how its grown over the years! Pretty cool! Its been quite the *teapot toting journey*!
I found my first one - July 23, 2009 - party #56. What about any one else?
Just a week before the parties started happening here. That makes you a real old-timer, Dorothy!! And from your write-up you'd obviously been following them on Cindy's blog even before you jumped in. Aren't you glad you did .
So we'll be 5 years old this July! I can remember my own 5th birthday quite distinctly - but only because I was in hospital!
I didn't understand the cheater email and I went with pink & green combo Oh well, here is my card My first teaparty was MMTPT85 A flat footed booby named Ruby
I didn't actually see what Sheri wrote in the cheater email - but pink and green is definitely inspired by the tea-set, Fran - sounds perfect to me AND it's a gorgeous card. I took a quick peek - going to catch up with some commenting later .

Silly, silly me! Last week I read the cheater mail that came w/o a story. When I made my card, I recalled from the cheater mail, the word "round"--as in circles. NOW, after I read the actual challenge herein, I realized that I completely forgot about the asparagus tea set inspiration. Ooops! The only two things that come to mind re asparagus and daffodils, is that here, wild asparagus grows at the same time the daffodils bloom ... and ... we have asparagus w/most of our Easter dinners, as well as, if Mom's daffodils have bloomed by then, we have a daffodil bouquet. I guess that'll have to do this time. Heehee!

Did you get the PM I sent you this morning? I saw it last night - in fact, I was on moderating duty when I approved it, but this morning I couldn't see it. I sent you a PM with instructions on how to edit it and resubmit your image, which should fix it. Sometimes the gallery doesn't like duplicates!
Sabrina, thanks so much for the "history lesson!" I love seeing the Teapot that started it all. The scoring was inspired by da Mudder's first Teapot card. Here is my You're Fabulous card.
