I can't believe I am even considering this poll...but it seems Digi has become all the rage these days...and dang it...it is getting so tempting for me. But never fear my scrampin friends I have not yet made a digi page...so apparently I am not too tempted. I love paper, embellies, stamps, scrapbook supplies so much that I can't imagine making an entire page on a screen and not irl (in real life).
Maybe someday...but here is my question.
Do we NEED a DIGI challenge to be posted here in the SB side of SCS? Please cast your vote in this poll.
Thanks for your help and feel free to post comments, suggestions, or whatever comes to mind pertaining to this topic.

I'm still stuck in my paper world - for me it's the love of all things paper in my hands. So that's where I'm at.
But, I can definately see the positives of digi and know that SOMEDAY, I'll e trying it!
"No, no not me" is what came to me first (a Katie phrase) so I am going to stick with that. I love creating with the paper. I look at the digi sbing compared to paper sbing; like I look at machine quilted quilts to hand quilted quilts - they should never be compared as they aren't in the same category. If VSBN were larger, I would push for having them in different categories for judging. Just IMHO
I chose undecided but not because I plan on going digi. I love paper way to much! But there seems to be more and more digi pages here and I think it would be good idea to have a challenge for those that digi scrap. I would even consider doing one here and there.
if you did a digi page, would you or could you print it out? If you do 12x12 you need a good 12x12 printer and those are pretty pricy. It would be a great way to try it out by doing some smaller sizes.
I see your point about the digi thing being all the craze and some of it does look pretty cool!! I've always been a person who loves to do crafts and when I got my hands on stamps, paper, embellishments....I can't get enough!! So for me too...it's ALWAYS better IRL!!;)
Not that I may NEVER try a digi page, but I already know that I'd certainly prefer the "REAL" thing!! Good question! THANKS!!

another thought ~ it might bring in some other scrappers that only do digi pages, but they don't get involved because they think the challenges are for paper only.

I Know Stephanie got some printed on line somewhere. Can't remember what the site is or what size but I think it was 12x12.
Paper all the way baby
We might not be the right group to ask. Maybe you should ask on the digi thread since that where "those people" always seem to hang out

Mel you are the perfect group to ask as you are "my scrampin gf's" and I completely value your opinion...I'm really not wanting to push the idea too hard unless someone is willing to be a hostess...especially since I am so lost on all the details and I don't have much desire to do it myself.
Although, I applaud others for doing it because they are completing pages and that is the ultimate goal. Does that make sense?
Oh and Peggy...I had already considered that if digital became more popular and was showing up more during VSBN someday we may have to split it up into another category. It is not fair to compete with a digitally made page, which I am sure takes some time to make...but to compare a hand-made page well they are just two totally different creations.

Totally agree - the point is to get pages done and get our memories recorded. And for some people - Laura for example - digi makes much more sense.

January pages scrapped 1/10
I have done exactly 2 digi pages, and I can agree it's like comparing apples to oranges! It can take longer to do a digi page, but it really depends on the "scrapper." I never saw the point of digi scrapping at first...after you print one its so....flat! I think they are easier to share, and fun to create, but I am still in love with my stamps and ink!!!
So I guess to answer your poll question I would say maybe, only because I can't even seem to do the regular challenges right now...let alone new ones!
Wow, interesting poll Tracy! I adore looking at digital layouts and I think (if done properly) they are completely gorgeous! There have been some very talented digi scrappers on this site lately, and I LOVE that!
As for me tho, scrappin is all about the hands-on process of touching and feeling my photos and sb supplies. I will probably eventually try digi scrappin, more than likely I would combine digi and paper on to one layout. But for now, I have WAY too many supplies to justify spending time on the computer learning an entirely different way to scrap.
That being said, I think a digi challenge would be awesome for the digi scrappers! Do they already post challenges in the digi scrapping forum?

okay I have voted for maybe but I think it should be in the digi area. I say maybe because I have been thinking that this would be the best way for me to get Riley's pages done.
BUT I would need to get the adobe elements first! hehehe!
Maybe a few have been posted...I think Mama K might have had some on her blog or something but really I'm not too sure about that.
I think for now it would be best to keep the SB challenge's as is...AGREED?
Great poll....I am with you all about touching, cutting, doing our thing with paper! To me...I look at digi scrappin as more of a graphic design thing...and paper scrampin as more of a crafty thing. Very different in my own mind! For me, I might try digi...to see what it is all about...but I could never abandon that paper!
I voted maybe. I'm not ready to go digi yet, but I've been interested to give it a shot. I really don't even know if I could though, because I don't have any special software.
I guess I would need to venture over to digi tutorials to really know ;)

Yes!! Please! If everything turned to DIGI over here....not sure that I would be able to participate at all!:( I'm guessing that you need a special printer, program, etc. to do those things and for me with the money I have invested in my stamps, paper, scrapping supplies...I would probably not feel justified in spending money on the equipment for the other while my scrap supplies are just sitting...KWIM? I've always been a person that likes to get their "hands dirty"...so to speak...so I plan on keeping this way for me for a looong while anyway. If everything went DIGI...it would just not be fun for me any more.
I love that you did this though Tracy!!!;)

I tried digi when I had a month trial for scrapbook max with my Scrapbook answers mag. I loved it and love to see digi pages but prefer paper myself. I think if I ever get Photoshop or a similar program I would add digi elements to my pages and have a hyrid page. Even with my preference I still found the digi world quite addicting.

Hey, who's talking about me! I caught you. WAVING AT YOU ALL!
Yes, I went digital and there is no turning back. I'm getting 3 to 4 pages done a night now. So catching up. I love the fact that I don't have to search for the correct color paper. I can use any kit and change the colors to match my pages. Yes, I am doing lots of challenges too. I've gotten pages done which I have never thought I would.
Okay, no I haven't printed them out yet. Only printed 2 pages on my regular printer here just to see what they would look like and they are fantastic. My intention is to have them professionally printed at some time but right now I am just sharing them with friends and family via our blog.
I am learning stuff each day and taking tutorials instead of chatting so that's why you haven't seen me much. Oh, I also won some contests.
okay to comment on this. Yes, it is very time consuming when you first start out but once you learn more and more you get faster and faster at it. I can now do a simple quick page in like 20 minutes. If I want to add more techniques and learn something new then that is where the time comes into play. Learning the software is what takes up a lot of time. But once you do it over and over again it comes to you quick!
To answer your pole you don't have to add a new digital challenge. A digital scrapper can participate in any scrapping challenge it does not have to be digital related. I know I havent' been here. I think you are trying to get me to participate again, right?
the reason I came here is I was looking for more challenges yes, sketches so I finally came in here to try to participate again. You will see me participating very soon.
Oh, I did move from 12 x 12 to 8 x 8 so I can print them out on my photo printer.

you can download adobe elements for 30 days free and play around before actually purchasing the software. That's what I did. In the 30 days I did about 15 or so tutorials to learn how to use it and decided to purchase the software. There are tutorials all over the web (free ones) and ones which come with the program too.
Personally I like the fact that I'm getting more pages done digitally then I have done paperwize and NO MESS! I can also digital scrapbook while with the kids since I was chatting anyway on line but now I can get pages done without little hands grabbing everything off the table.
It is starting to make sense to me...but even if I try it I don't think I could ever go completely digital. Do tell about the contest you have won...I am curious.
Oh and kudos to you for completing tons of pages. Of course, I want you to participate here...We miss ya girl!
I did a new kids on the block contest which lasted I think a month. Each week I had to submit my layout and people would comment and you kept changing your layout until it came out really good. It was a lot of fun and each week there was a different contest. I came in top 10 in this contest.
In another contest heritage theme week = I won a couple different contests.

I just ordered elements 5 from best buy for $50! I will be receiving it for christmas! hehehe! My mom bought it for me!
I can agree with most of you. I am a hands on person. I have always worked with my hands being floral designing, sewing or scrapbooking. I use Photoshop for fixing my photos but that is the extent of it. So my answer would be no....

Congrats to you on the contest!!!:p I think that's great!! I think the digi pages really are awesome looking!! I still feel that I cannot justify myself in spending so much money on that and not on all this other scrap stuff I have laying around all over the place! But I do love to look at the digi pages!!;)
