Hi all- I am in love with the new ribbon keepers that SU! has in the hoiday mini, but OMG did I find the best way to keep track of all my other ribbons...
I ordered one just like this from oh, I can't think of the name of the catalog. It comes to the office. It's the one where you get a break on shipping if you buy it in lots of 3.
I will have to check my price. I think I will this item.
This is too good.....now I only hope I can get one ordered before they realize we all want them for ribbon for scrapbooking - that would jack the cost up triple!
TFS!

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.
I just ordered one from LTD Commodities today. It allowed me to place my order but never asked for a credit card or anything. And then I read that they only sell to "Companies" not individuals. So has anyone ordered anything directed from LTD? I'm wondering what to expect.
If they ask, just tell them you have a business. I had one sent to my house for being a demo of Tupperware! They stopped sending them when I stopped buying, though. If you're a demo or have some other type of business, then you won't be lying.
Well I am disappointed. Being in Canada you can't take advantage of those mail order companies you mentioned. They have some neat stuff!!!! Anybody know of any companies that will send to Canada? Thanks
Sooo I bought this ribbon holder. And it's nice for holding gift wrap paper but the rods are WAY too big to hold a standard roll of ribbon. You'd have to cut out the plastic inserts of all your spools in order for them to fit. Boo hoo.
Oh, I thought it would work! Maybe DH can fashion some new rods out of something like dowel rods or something. I wonder if we can return it! I hope it works for my non SU ribbon. Would you mind measuring the diameter of the rods?
Ok, for anyone that ordered this or plans to order this....
It can hang on a wall or over a door, so if desktop space is an issue, problem solved. The rods that hold the spools of ribbon just rest on the hooks, so you can either replace them with skinnier rods, like dowel rods (possiby painted to match) or cut the plastic inserts to your SU spools to fit.
I chose to see if I could cut my spools to make a larger hole. It is a bit tedious and even might hurt your hand a bit. It reminds me of trying to mount my stamps with regular scissors. So, use your craft and rubber scissors, but it may still hurt your hand.
I'm anxious to see that ribbon holder, but the link just takes me to the cover of the Lakeside catalog. I tried several different searches in their search box ro ribbon holder, ribbon organizer, etc., but nothing comes up. Can you tell me the word to search for - I'd love to get an organizer instead of having my ribbon rolls sit in a box. Thanks!
I found a great ribbon organizer at Michael's for $19.99 and used my 40% off. It holds SU ribbon on the botton shelf and regular on the next two shelves and holds Bobbin ribbon on the top shelf. I love it!!
Oh, its in the ribbon section on the bottom shelf kinda in the corner, at our store. I don't know where they are hiding them in other stores.

Try this. I had to go to ABC Distributing, which merged w/ LTD Commodities. It seems that Lakeside is the same, too. I've seen LTD exclusives in Lakeside and they said they were Lakeside exclusives.
The link used to work for the one I got. I'll post a new link. I like the one from Michael's, too. It looks like it has a handle!
The Michael's one has a handle and a loop on the side to hold scissors. I didn't know that until somebody else told me.
It also had a plastice cover that zips around the back to make for easy ribbon change, but keep the ribbon in the holder if you need to move it.
I will probably go get another on when I get some new ribbon.
How do the ribbon organizers from Michael's differ from the ones sold at Target last year? Just wondering if it's worth looking into the one at MIchael's, from the picture on this thread, I really like how many spools of ribbon the Michael's one will hold! I have a few Target ones but my ribbons are all mixed up, need to organize again.

I bought the Target ones and I hated them. I think I sold mine at a garage sale. The one at Michaels holds about 17spools per tray and there are 3 trays for regular size spools. The middle trays hold regular size ribbon and the bottom one holds both SU nad regular size. I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but the front is also covered with plastic with an opening at every tray for your ribbon to feed out. HTH
