What to do with old CD cases

Exclamation stained glass

Can anyone tell me how to give the appearance of a stained glass window on acetate or something see-thru. I would like to stamp a cross behind it but I don't know where to start?

I usually like to use dark cardstock for the card but then the stamped sentiment inside doesn't show up. I sometime use designer paper that coordinates with the front and tear a "patch" large enough...
