Have you thought about taking your heavy water color paper to a printer and have them do a test print with a laser printer? That way you can see how it fairs with Tim Holts distress ink before...

I have an HP inkjet printer and use 110 lb Staples white cardstock. I let the digi image dry for 24 hours before coloring with Copic Markers. Letting the ink dry seems to be the key.
