Could some one please tell me why does the foam need to be taken off the rubber? can it not stay on and be used with the acrilic blocks? I would also like to get rid of the wood but if I don't need...

I have just tried the whisper white craft ink with the blender pen and it works wonderful. I would suggest that if you want to use your stampin spots that you stamp the colour onto a clear plastic...
