Now off to get paint to finish the hallway then going to Alabama later to take my grand daughter a couch. Will sprinkle a little love between projects.
I hope all of you get over to the VSBN Thread and get to check out this weekend's Crop if you didn't get to play along yet! It was Super Fun with lots of inspiration so if you're looking to get pages done, check it out. (pssst, I've also attached the Master Tracking Spreadsheet to this Post)
I'm headed out but not for Vacation, I'll be on the road for work all of this week. Glad I got lots of pages done for VSBN but I can honestly say at this point "I'm scrapped out". LOL. I've packed some Christmas Card stuff hoping I get some time this week to work on that project.
Scrap On!
Diana and Doni had some super challenges! I'm done with numbers 1 though 10...whew! I'd have to agree, I'm about scrapped out too!...five more to do plus stash busters! Gonna be a busy!
p.s. rather than post a link to all of them, if you'd like to check them out you can pop over to my gallery. Most are in my 2013 album. Scrappin' on!

I started an album for my son's high school years. He's a freshman and my hope is to keep up with it over the next four years and give it to him when he graduates. I decided to do digital project life to make it quicker/easier. I scrapped with friends all day on Saturday and got 12 pages done!! I love how they turned out! Here are a few of them:

So for this challenge, I had a tough time coming up with a layout. I new I wanted to use the rub ons but I struggled with the photos and color scheme. All's well that ends well...
Whew, it was a long week "on the road". I was in MI, OH, KY and GA. Thankful to be home and esp happy that we may have cold where I am but no "white stuff" yet... up the road 30 minutes - 8 inches of snow! :o
I'm hoping to work on some cards and a couple page ideas this weekend but tonight, sleep, LOL!
There are sure some WOW pages in the VSBN Gallery! Keep scrappin'

Looks like we will have one more week of stash buster before the Thanksgiving holiday! Doing a little shopping and having a great time with my girls!! Enjoy your weekend!

one more day ... I need just one more day to my weekend, LOL! Not really but it's Sunday night and it would feel good to not have to get up tomorrow and run off to work
I got 30 Christmas Cards done for my Mom this weekend and some online Christmas shopping plus lots of house stuff so it was good
I do have some page ideas but didn't quite get to those this weekend. Maybe this week as I'll be in town

Good Afternoon Everyone...
I know I keep disappearing and reappearing like a bad friend gone awry. And I know that there is no excuse good enough to justify me not checking in. But I want all of you to know how thankful I am for all of you and want you all to know that you have never been more than a thought away, I know some of you better than others, and yet I still feel an kinship with all of you. I want all of you to know what a blessing you all of been in my life... and I promise to do better. (maybe not until the new year though, whereas I still have a lot going on my plate)
I could write the long version and bore you all to death or I could just simple list a few things in my life that I am asking a few extra prayers right now for... (maybe it also can be a quick incite to my disappearance)
1. In August, after a month of me helping care for my grandmother she passed away and losing her has taken its tole on my mother. And I feel a very strong need to move closer to her in the west, so that she is not feeling so alone.
2. Between the high stress level and all the travel with my Husband's new added responsibilities with his job, this fall when his MS came out of remission it took a greater tole on him and all of us than normally expected.
3. With the stress of both my hubby and I being gone so much during August and Sept, our youngest son's Nerofibermitosis started to manifest it's self is ways that we never anticipated, which created a whole other set of worries for us.
4. I started feeling guilty about all the time I spent away from my family and my husband and this in turn took it's tole on MY heart and I ended up in bed for a week... I gave up my Stampin' Up! demoship, my church callings and all my civic responsibilities expect for my Red Cross duities. I spent the next month baking and relaxing in the kitchen and took back control of my life and my family and then just when I didn't think anything else could get anymore confusing
5. My husband came home from work one day and said that one of his old bosses called him from his favorite company and put a couple of really good offers on the table that he wanted to consider very seriously and he wanted to get-away for awhile, travel, rest and destress.
6. So... due to the amazing job our oldest son has with an awesome airlines, which affords us the ability to travel anytime we want, we took a leave of absence in a way (maybe midlife crisis) and went to check out some new opportunities and spent some time on ourselves and playing grandma and grandpa.
So now we are back, feeling very blessed and very grateful for a Father in Heaven who loves us unconditionally and is very mindful of both our needs and the desires of our hearts. I have a very firm testimony of this and I am very happy and excited to report that he has provided us with a new job opportunity for us move closer to our family in the west and yet stay in the much needed warm and sunny climate that my husband and son needs. Also with that comes the blessing of job opportunities for my married kids to move and be closer to us. We can all be back together as a family again.
So I ask for your prayers, patience and understanding as we make yet another move and I promise I will check in more often...
Also... For all of you who know us well.... THE NEXT TIME YOU SEE US WAVING, WE WILL BE WAVING FROM OUR NEW HOME AT THE SUNNY GRAND CANYON SOUTH RIM.
Anavon, you have my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your grandmother and you and your family will stay in my thoughts and prayers for a successful move. Take care and enjoy the sunny side of the South Rim (my favorite spot at the Grand Canyon)!!

Annie, passing along many prayers as you continue on your journey to a new beginning in the warmth of the south side. I'm sorry to hear of the hardships you have gone through this past year and blessings to you and your whole family as you make this move. I'm excited for you, so please check in again when you can to let us know how it goes. I will be on the look out next year for some layouts of your new scenery! Just keep taking photos, the time will come for you to scrap again. Right now just enjoy a hopefully simplified life, at least outside the family.
So much for my plan to do a ton of scrapping this month, haha...I'm only up to 3 pages and I haven't got to play with VSBN at all... :( I did start my in-laws calendar (annual Christmas gift) tho, and that definitely needs attention, so today I'm linking up the first two pages for them-
Annie, good to hear from you. I can't imagine what you have gone through with all these issues coming from all directions. Sending hugs! Like Sharon, look forward to pages of your new scenery!

Anavon, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I too am sending {{good vibes}} for health, safe travels moving and blessings for your new journey! As with everyone else, I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your new digs and scenery
I truly believe "For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven" Ecc 3:1 (NLT). I mentioned to a friend the other day that I made my Mom's Christmas Cards and she was envious of "free time". I was thinking there was a time I would have felt the same however with my sons grown, I do have space in my schedule to just do something crafty and fun. Her time will come.

I can well understand the beach weather being preferable to that sub zero temp!! It is going to warm up in our part of the country with temps reportable in the 70's by the week end!! Whoop whoop, I will open my windows again, starting today, as soon as it warms just a tad bit more. Hate for the heater to come on, poor DH gets cold easily. I wonder if that (cold temps) is why I have been working on summer (well it was the end October) pages this last week??
We are staying put the rest of the year, the weather to too unpredictable and we can no longer drive in unfavorable conditions like ice and snow!
Sharon, I was reading your blog last night! Loved looking at your Wednesday desk! Congrats on being retired!! I must have missed that one here on SCS. There is nothing like it!! Although there are some days I wish I have a small job for a little extra money....
I should have designed this for VSBN but I forgot..... I am already working on another layout that will work as long as I follow the rules, which should be easy enough to do. Heaven knows I have been needing to get these pictures in a book for years!! I also like the fact that I have been making flat pages instead of my normal bulky flowered and embellished ones, that way my album should lay nice and flat!
I really missed that one Sharon!!! I guess I had not realized you had been retired that long. Your blog text sounds like you are still as excited about that as I am after 5 years!! ;-) Love everyday that still feels like a holiday!!!

Yep, I retired March 31st , 2009, and I am still appreciating the fact that I don't have to get up at a certain time, or have to get out in inclimate weather to go to work! LOL Thanks for visiting my Blog.
so.... Sharon and Sharon .... do you still "celebrate" Fridays? LOL
My team mates and I have really talked a lot more about retirement lately. The chaos and pace is getting to us, it's a crazy world we live in
I'm glad for Friday. I hope to get some crafting done tomorrow. I'm traveling for work Sunday, I'll be in Memphis next week
You travel quite a bit for your job, sometimes a blessing and sometimes a curse (I'm sure). I've been a stay at home Mom for the last 18+/- years (I've had a couple of part time temp jobs), all to the dismay of my dear hubby...who would love to see me go back to work on a regular basis. I've been trying to hold off until my youngest graduates, but I don't know if time will allow me that. I applied for a job (you know, when opportunity knocks), so we'll see what happens. I'm hoping to get a call for an interview next week (before we leave for the holiday weekend). I keep thinking I'll have some extra money to buy some supplies without the guilt. In the meantime, trying to get some cards made for Thanksgiving, then cooking up some dishes to take on the road! Maybe I can finish up the VSBN too...only four more layouts to do! If the weather turns nasty on us again, it'll be nice to be home-bound.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, I'm grateful for all everyone's kind words on my layouts. It's been a lot of fun participating in the challenges and being inspired by such a creative and wonderful group! Safe travels and have a wonderful weekend!

Oh Lela I celebrate Friday every day of the week!! I get up in the morning and say YEA it's Saturday (Friday being behind me ;-))!!
In reality I'm saying "Yea the schools are on holiday next week and my DGK's are going out of town so I don't have school runs to make or after school care!" I don't mind the after school care at all, it's the daily runs to two different schools to do pick up that makes scheduling my day a hassle. Although, I have been using that time waiting in the car line to read and take a break from holiday madness!! One of their schools is only 2 miles from our house but a 35-40 minute bus ride.
What pushed me over the edge into retirement was the fact that half the time I took a nap during my lunch break, then still have to fight to stay up until 8:30 - 9:00 before going to bed at night! Plus my back always hurt, I was a chair side dental assistant for almost 30 years AND we didn't work Fridays.
