I finished a layout today and was going to post it but my cat is lying on my scanner and I didn't want to disturb him to scan the layout, so then I posted the two other layouts I finished in the last few days, but I have to wait for approval before linking them here, so I have nothing to share. Sigh . . .
Jayne, you sound ultra organized on the packing. When we go on cruises, we usually go for two weeks, and I try to pack for one week and do wash at least 1 to 2 times on the ship. Really easy. But cannot imagine 4 months, and all the different weather conditions!
But you are going to have so much fun!
Re us getting together: you just find out when you are coming and we can plan around that! LOL. We might be able to do it, that long a time ahead!
Sharon it's taken a few years LOL. I'm half packed. I lost my trousers and found them after searching in places you wouldn't believe....they were in the case all the time LOL. I am starting to feel organised.
I also pack for at least 10 days in case we don't have washing facilities. In Scotland we don't but after that we do in most places but we will manage and there's always laundromats. I am ok as long as I have clean undies LOL
I've thrown in my Uniqlo jacket...it takes up no space and is light but warm. I wore it all the time in the US/Canada on the cruise you were also on and was warm as toast with my scarf/hat. It looks as though they are having a heatwave in the UK so I am just taking shorts and tops I wear here in summer. I checked all of our trip photos the past 3 years and I am wearing the same stuff LOL...oh well...light and easy to wash.
I hope we have lots of fun...the main thing is that we stay well. I will post when I can. This time next week we will be heading to the airport...eek.
Happy day

I dont see the evening outfits. This sure doesnt look like much. If I put stuff on the bed as much as you say is there my king bed would be covered! I guess I dont have lightweight stuff you are talking about!
No evening dresses yet but I am only taking 2 and will rotate and we have decided we won't go to every formal evening. I have a couple of light evening dresses but most of mine are heavy and the shoes are the worst things to pack so I just take 1 pair.
Everything on the bed is for day wear plus evening (not formal)....there's some black and also white trousers and I have silk tops I roll that go with either pants and just dress up with jewellery and shoes. I roll all my tops into a travel bag that is about A4 size with zips...one side tops for evening wear, the other side has my cami's in and t-shirts. I will show you the end result of what I use when I am finished. It means I don't need to unpack when I'm at the other end apart from on the cruise and just get out my capsules.
Hope this makes sense....it's taken me a long time to get to this point LOL

Happy Tuesday everyone.....hope you are all planning a wonderful day. We have just scoffed dinner and I've been packing. Hubby had his follow up neurologist appointment and his dissection has repaired itself...whoop, whoop. He's still on meds for the next year but we are so happy.
Have a great day jx

HI ladies.
Just popping in. i've been doing 6x8 layouts for my SU blog. So far they've been about using items from the Paper Pumpkin kit. But I have plenty of stash to create other layouts. I have a plan. :-) We'll see how I manage.

Scrapbook Layouts: April: 0/4
My layouts got approved, so here are my first two layouts for the month. I know I'm kinda behind on my scrapping, but the month has been super busy. I need to hustle to get my 8 in for the month!
Travel in Canada
Rocky mountain rail yes!
From Alberta to Toronto take the plane...why...it is a wheat route not a scenic route
Train from Toronto to Montreal... Yes
Tons of water here so there are the 1000 island boat cruise...need your passport to stop at the castle
Gonna try the 30,000 island cruise... Both in Ontario
Quebec is French... If you are in a tourist area you will be ok with English
When I do the Atlantic... I will fly to Halifax then rent a car
Rocky mountain rail...oh yeah! Must be gold leaf class.
Ok...no Alberta - Toronto by rail. What about going to Calgary?
Train from Toronto - Montreal - done that and was awesome.
I like the idea of the 1000 island boat cruise and the 30,000 island cruise. Must add them to our list.
Keep them coming friends...need lots of tips where to go...if we ever get your way again.
Happy Wednesday and hump day....busy day and period this end. It's also rained all day and cold. Yuk.

A retreat is possible. My DD attends one. It started 4 years ago with a coloring group taught by a girl from Australia. The teacher doesn't attend anymore but several other ladies still do.

You will do great in here! A WONDERFUL bunch of supportive people here. You will also see links to the challanges
In case you missed it...there will be a new thread each month.
Quebec... the province...is French
Skip Montreal if you don't like big cities and crazy drivers. Go to Quebec city for all the historical sites instead. There is a ton of Roman Catholic things in Quebec from before they split church and state

It's our DIL1s birthday today so we went out for brunch with her and eldest boy whilst poppets were at school. Picked up our travel documents and now reality is setting in. Also went through our itinerary for our trip next year to Japan which is turning into an exciting trip....yes I know...I haven't done this one yet. Also picked up a river cruise brochure on the way out with free flights to europe next year but hubby isn't buying into this one LOL.
Spent the arvo reconfirming bookings and still no word from Venice...getting a little bit anxious......packed a little more and read that there's a heatwave in the UK/Scotland and may have to reconsider my packing a little...maybe not.
No work on my travel journal but once this is all done, I'm onto it. 4 more sleeps everyone...eeek.
Happy day and weekend jx

I guess I underestimated how driving kids around all summer would cut into my scrapping time! Only four layouts completed, though I hope to get one or two done today. My two little ones are at a sleepover and my hubby is taking the two older ones to see Jurassic World this afternoon, so as soon as I get back from my hair appointment, I should have several distraction-free hours to scrapbook. Hopefully my mojo and energy levels will cooperate! Anyone else scrapping today?
One of my goals this month was to play along with the scraplift challenge, so here's the layout I finished for that. Now I'm off to work on another layout!
I did start a page this morning, got pretty far with it but not sure of the embellishments just yet so it is sitting for a while. I did finish two Julie Nutting dolls, one is for a birthday card and the other is for the 'sitting' scrapbook page. Hopefully I'll finish it after church tomorrow.
Cheryl, hope your break for playing 'busy mom' provided some scrappy time for you!
Lynn, do go easy if you are having that kind of heat. We got up up 94f yesterday, but then we get some afternoon downpours, usually with lightening and thunder which the doggies detest. Anything we want to do outside needs to be done first thing in the morning before it gets too hot.
