Scrappin' Challenge 2018Can you believe this is our 10th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2017 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2018! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2018! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2018 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc18jun"

Lela, a little note for you as I think you may not have seen it on the May challenge thread:
(Lela, have you managed to see my note about your bins? My inquisitive mind and I'm always on the lookout for more organisational tips for my craft room.
I'm also in a quandary as to whether I count 2 x pocket LOs as one for my goal...I think that's the way to go. What do the rest of you do?)
For June I'm going soft with my goal as although I have time to scrap this week, I also have a lot to do this month.
My goal for this month will be: 6
YTD: 17.5
(I did 4 x 12x12s and 7x 6x8s so am counting 2 of the smaller ones as 1x 12x12 unless Lela or someone thinks otherwise LOL)....
As you know I always complicate things LOL. Happy day and challenges. I'm ready

YTD:49 . . . June Goal:5
I fell short in May by 2. This month I have plans to work in my sewing room some, plus do some serious organizing in the craft room. There is a lot of outside work I need to get done as well. All these plans are why I'm giving myself a goal of 5 so I don't completely abandon scrapping.

Here's 3 6x8 LOs I've done this arvo, 2 for Sharon's stashbuster challenge. I haven't posted them in the pockets thread, although they are I guess pockets LOL
So enjoying doing a travel album for a change...I like the speed of creating and enjoying reliving our trip.

Good Morning Everybody...
I reached my goal for May of 5pages
which brings my YDT to20
So myJune goal is going to be10
Normally I don't post on Sunday's, but I wanted to check in and also share with all of you this really fun "Super Saturday" Inspirational Scrapping challenge we had yesterday.
I was asked to host one of the challenges and this was the challenge I gave everyone... We had so much fun see all the different ideas that people came up with from using only their stash pile that we were asked to bring with us.
HERE IS THE CHALLENGE (just in case you want to play)
It's Saturday! Let's go FISHING.... (In Jamaica)
The Super Saturday Challenge of the Day, for any scrappers who want to play, is to design a scrapbook page or two using the Jamaican "fishing" boats as your inspiration...
My inspiration came from the bright colors of the boats and my layout is of Little Bit "fishing" for Eggs at Easter.
Lela, a little note for you as I think you may not have seen it on the May challenge thread:
(Lela, have you managed to see my note about your bins? My inquisitive mind and I'm always on the lookout for more organisational tips for my craft room
Hi Jayne, I’d like to tell you that it’s a great organizational idea that I’ve come up with but... that might be a little stretch . It has however worked well for me so far. I have plastic shelf units that hold 12x12 Iris cases. I took my embellishments and sorted them by type, put them in the case and labeled them so I know where to look for what. Has been saving me a lot of time, effort plus using Stash and added variety!
For instance one bin has puffy stickers, wooden accents and mesh. Another bin has Decorative brads, badge buttons and metal tags and clips. I used to just have all this stuff thrown in together. It took forever to find what I was looking for. It’s much easier now!
Hope that helps explain?

Hope everyone had some crafty time. It was a good one for that here, we had some rain. I ended up getting several of my May pages done so once I finish Memorial Day, I'll be up-to-date with May 2018. I am really hoping to stick with my goal of keeping "current" going forward? I might make it for June but July will be difficult with all the travel.
Here's some pages I finished up this weekend
Today In May (This Month's Sketch Challenge)
Happy Monday everyone....it rained here too....lots.... and we have had a weather update from the RAC to say that gusty winds and a storm is coming this evening through to tomorrow mid morning. We have battened down the hatches and brought all the outdoor cushions indoors. It's good for our plants that we put in our verge last week....although someone in a 4WD decided to drive other and flatten one of them...doh! All now resurrected.
Lela, thank you for the tip on your stash, and glad you are keeping up with your monthly goal.
I did spend a couple of hours in my craft room today. I used to have it fairly organised but I have just been tossing stuff anywhere and it was a mess. I use pull out plastic drawers and boxes for my embellishments...which were crammed full LOL.
I sort my embellishments by colour...which doesn't always work, so I have now pulled out my flowers, hearts/flourishes, butterflies into separate bins. All my chipboards are now in one bin, ribbons sorted as much as possible by colour (but still a way to go). Having ribbons by colour does seem to work for me LOL
I've also put all of my project life/TH cards/filler cards into a box so I can just go through them in one place. I was going to sort them by theme but sometimes I use a theme card on a LO that is non related.
I also have my mixed media art stuff on a new trolley I bought recently....loving it. Hopefully that will ensure it now gets used. Before I used to have it all tucked away in my cupboard, never to be seen. I even went through all of my papers and scraps and tidied those up which are all in bags by colour. Phew....!
The biggie is I can now see my desk... LOL. Tomorrow I hope to do more on my travel album. I watched a technique last night that I want to try with one of my photos on a tag...watch this space. Such a cool technique if I can make it work and will put the tag in between my pages as a divider....that's the plan ;) i am feeling so motivated again after a little downer last week and I think starting the mini album is helping, plus it's quicker for me than full LOs.
Wishing you all a happy day.....it's Melissa's wedding anniversary today....Happy anniversary Melissa
Enjoy

I completed 8 layouts in May, so my YTD is 14. I actually did more layouts in May than I had done the whole rest of the year, so thanks for all your encouragement, ladies! For June, I think I will set my goal at 8 since I was able to complete that many last month. Plus my goal is to complete the sketch, stashbusters, and scraplift challenges.
Happy Tuesday everyone.....no anniversary's today...not that I know of LOL.
I intended to do a divider for my travel album today with an idea I've got, but other stuff got in the way.....mainly in the form of a physio LOL. Hopefully tomorrow I can get back into my craft room although the physio has given me strict instructions not to sit for too long...or lie....I have to MOVE...maybe that should have been my OLW LOL.
Happy creating and enjoy

Hi everyone! May was super busy with my DD completing 6th grade and a short glamping trip. I did complete my goal, though!
YTD: 58
June goal: 6
I decreased my goal for the month because my MIL is coming for a week to visit and the craft room is also the guest room. Maybe one day I'll have a big enough house to have the two rooms separate! lol
I haven't had time to upload any layouts from the last 2 months, but maybe I will upload just my absolute favorite from each month.
Hope everyone has a crafty week!

Glad you are scrapping Liz, it would be a pleasure to see your creations when you find time!
Here is a pocket page, front and back. I'm really awful at figuring these out when I have photos that do not fit the size of the pockets and I have way too many. Just not my style of scrapping, I believe. Doesn't leave me much space for decorating - haven't got the knack of making all the little cards to insert instead of photos. Pretty good lookin' set of pocket pages for someone that's "really awful at figuring these out". I wouldn't write this off as "not your style'. It's possible to scrap both pockets and traditional. It takes a little practice to get comfortable and find your groove.

Thanks, Melissa, for your sweet encouragement.
Don't know if anyone noticed, but I pulled a slick one: the center pockets on the right side are actually 3 regular (4" wide)photos taped together. After taping the back side, I cut this strip down to a 4" x 12". Then cut that strip every 3 inches. It's crazy for sure, but I got the page filled.
I like how Lela has frequently used a pocket to go with a traditional layout. That might work for me better.
So far I just don't think the way I would need to do in order to do Project Life pages; my head is still in the "group and layer" with simple journaling.

I love how you are using the pockets. If you have a large pocket and some small pictures... just create a mat the size of the pocket and put the pictures on it. The fuse tool can be used to create a pocket but I can't remember how. If you don't like the pocket..you can staple the picture to the top of the pocket and it will be on the outside
Thanks, Lynn, I love all the ideas you ladies are giving me about the pockets. e have a Fuse tool and between my DD and I we could figure it out, I'm sure. My problem seams to have been that the pockets were too small this time - lol

I agree with Melissa! I think your pocket page JoyceAnn, is really neat, esp with the photos that carry over the pockets and the church!

here is what I just did... these quotes resonate with me right now. there were 3 quotes... I placed the gold hearts on the back of a quote... in the middle I did a fussy cut and glued it on
a clear photo pocket.. mine is for a 4x6.. one edge of the pocket has double sided tape
see the white strip down the left side..that is tape... so technically you could create a pocket with the window sheets for a shaker card ... a fuse tool.. and double sided tape
Glad you are scrapping Liz, it would be a pleasure to see your creations when you find time!

Joyce Ann your LO is awesome and you have done it so well. I also struggled but am slowly getting the knack of it. I found that I didn't like to crop photos down but now I try and focus on just one area of the photo. Agree it doesn't leave a lot of room for embellishment but I don't mind it now and it's certainly quicker. Keep doing them as yours is lovely. Happy day

Lynn the album I'm using for my travel photos is 6x8 and I bought some of the clear pockets, all sizes to go into it as well as a waterfall pocket that somehow sticks in...not tried it yet. I think the album is Kaisercraft. Happy day

I did not notice - so you did that well. These "slick ones" are the things to put in your description.
An event with many photos or travel photos are a really good place to start with the pocket page scrapping. You can take the special photos and traditionally scrap those, but still have the supporting cast in pockets.
