WOW! Our 2nd month of 2009 Scrappin' Goal Challenge! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in January and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together this month!
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages last month! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
With that in mind, I thought I would invite all of you to February Scrapbook Challenge! Oh what fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends.
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for February. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for February if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Money spent on Adhesive and Printing Pictures is not included in the monthly scrapping budget. We'll count pages 7x7 & up = 1 page for 1 page completed, 6x6 & smaller = 2 pages for 1 page completed.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2009 Scrapbook Challenge! Woohoo for February! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!

** You can ADD in Feb Goal, YTD Goal or just keep going with monthly ** I will update the amounts February 10
I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want extra $$ for the holidays. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. I decided it would be easier to split from the page goal posts. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal

Jodi -- (aka: Mewsin)
This month one very special sister of the month is our "Queen of the Late Night Scrappers" Jodi! Although, she's a working woman now so we'll have to see if her style changes since she's scrappin' earlier, LOL! We still love our NorthWestern Canada Sister & when asked, "if you could only have 3 (THREE) SU! Stamp sets, what would they be?" she replied, "Just THREE??? I would pick Contempto Alphabet, Happy Harmony, and Spring Serene." Jodi also has a unique scrappin' plan as she does 4 (or was that 5) of every page so each of her kiddo's get pages in their books. She puts each in a page protector and adds them to their "bags" for later placement in the album. What a GREAT Mom!

Ok Scrappy Sisters! One of the FUN things we like to do occasionally here in the Scrap Goal Thread is Share some fun with our scrappin'!
This month (by special request) we're going to "SHARE THE LOVE"! We did this last year and had a GREAT time so I really invite all of you who'd like to play to join in!
Here's how it works. Select a "word" that you would like to share with a scrappin' sister. Don't tell anyone what word you selected! The "word" can be any word you'd like to choose, the challenge is that you have to find that word on an embellishment or stamp the word on a title box or cut it out with your cricut...whatever. It has to be in a form they can add to a scrapbook page.
We'll take sign ups for playing until 02/20. I will then PM you the address of the sister you'll send the word to. Don't tell anyone what the word is! You may also send a fun little scrappin' goodie to go with the word if you've chosen to stamp or diecut the word but it can't be something "big" you send. On FRIDAY, March 13 all sisters that received a "word" to scrap will upload their page with the word they were sent & reveal who sent them the "word".
So, just to re-iterate the process
1. Select a "word" that would be fun to scrap a page around
2. PM Lela your name & address
3. Put the word embellishment in envelope for mailing
4. On 02/20, receive a PM with Scrappin' Sis address for mailing to
5. Mail the word envelope to Scrappin' Sister
6. Receive your word envelope from a Scrappin' Sister
7. Scrap a page using the word embellishment, title box or whatever you
received
8. On March 13, upload your completed page
I attached a SAMPLE HERE. Last year my word came from Lanita (divanurse). My word was "fun" and she sent me the cutest little clip that said, "Fun Times". I added the word and the clip to my page.
If you have questions, let me know! "Share the Love"!

Count me in - with a goal of 16 pages - I'm on a push to reach my personal goal before my DH returns. I tried to set a budget last month, but it was no good, so no budget for me this month but I'm going to try to use as much stash as I can. I just can't pass up a good deal!!

This month I'm going to double January's goal and shoot for 8 pages. Hope VSBN will help with this and still using up that stash....haven't bought anything (with my money) yet this year. Had a huge gift certificate from Walmart and used it to buy the PSE 7 Software so eventually I hope to try some of the digital challenges...Thanks for keeping me motivated. It's so much more fun on these threads..when you do a lo, you do get comments and that's so encouraging.
January was an awful month but I still managed to exceed my goal of 5 pages. So I guess that means I got a headstart on February? Anyway, I am increasing my target for February to 10 pages. Here are my first 2 - a bit of a cheat, I admit, since they are different versions of the same LO for different albums. Oh well....
Ok I will be in Cancun for a week, report cards are due (thus testing for the report cards) plus valentines day and stuff so I know I need to keep the number low this month and make it up during spring break! So my goal for Feb is 4 pages!
I did 13 pages for January's goal (I'm including the one I will finish up today). February won't leave me much scrapping time, though (making Valentine's for my 2 older girls' parties, auditing our church's books, teaching Sunday School, my mom and grandma's birthdays to make gifts for, and beginning the planning of Vacation Bible School). So my February goal is just 3 pages.
I'm gonna double my Jan goal to 8 pages using stash again. I will have it broken down specifically later, but wanted to get this added. I'm thinking of this as Finish It February (got a vac album to finish and some family gifts that need to be done 6x6's). Need to wrap a goal around that and get it down on paper...
First I need to finish my coffee and figure out why I have NO HEAT!. It's 16 degrees (F) outside (which is warm compared to what we had), but my thermostat says its 54 degrees in here. YIKES!

Of course I'm in! My February goal will be 20 pages (only becuase I'm going to count VSBN in the February goals!). I'm not committing to any stash this month because I'm going to place my first order from the new catty this week after SAB starts. On the other had, I blew myself away with the amount of mony I paid myself in January - all tucked safely away in a savings account! Wahoooo for saving!!!!
Ok, I'm happy to report I went over by 1 on last months goal so I'm going to stick with the 10 pages for Feb and already have 1 done thanks to VSBN...
Moving on to February... I am going to shoot for 35 pages. I have Fri. night/Sat. day event next weekend and need to have a 7x7 album I am working on done by then. I probably have about 8-10 pages left in it. I have a couple of new album projects to start this month so I am setting my budget at $50. I'm a CM consultant so I only count my cost, right?

I made my goal on Thursday and added 10 more during VSBN.....WOOT WOOT!!!!! And I didn't spend any of my $10.00 budget, I only used my stash!
I'm moving on to February...... Starting tomorrow!
February Goals..... only 25 pages, because I will be in Florida on Vacation for two weeks, reloading my picture supply and scrapping with Mary Pat! YAH........
So Feb Goals:
Cards ~ goal 25 / SBC ~ goal 25 / $ ~ only stash / Pounds to lose ~ 10 more
Hi!! I'm back too! Lela I'll have 10 again for this month (the kids go back to school tomorrow after a 2 month break!!) and I'll have a budget of $0.00. I am finally getting into the swing of using my stash without feeling *old-fashioned* in this fickle fast moving scrapping world!!

Well.... January was a bust. I didn't accomplish anything. Well 2 pages. I hope to use February to catch up on all I missed. Hopefully. I am going to say that my goal will be 8 pages with stash use only. I am detemined to reclaim my "me time" this month!
