My mom gave me albums and my baby book and told me to do my own baby album. LOL!
That sounds like the perfect solution, however none of my kids or their spouses scrap (nor will they try).

Pattis out of town without a computer and asked if I would post a challenge for her today. Im sorry its so late, its been one of those days where Ive been runnng since dawn!
So for this weeks challenge, LET'S DRESS UP CHIPBOARD! Dig out your chipboard shapes or alphas and use paint, glitter, paper or anything else you can think of to jazz them up and add them to your page. (Tim Holtz grungeboard will work too--or you can even make your own "chipboard" using layers of punched cardboard.) Im working on a page for this challenge, but Im not quite finished.
Have fun! Don't forget to upload your Thursday Challenge page to ThursFS0421 and SBC11Apr!
My mom recently discovered digital scrapbooking. She gave me the greatest Christmas present...an album with all my baby through 12 year photos. It is awesome. Of course, that is what has guilted me into thinking I should do that for my kids!
Hi ladies!
Happy Friday! This is sort of my "wrapping up April" - "checking in" note. I have been busy scrapping this month but not the same fun way we usually do. When my computer died in July, it managed to take with it all my digital pages I had done up to that point. Well...at least off the program making them not-printable thru Stampin' Up! as far as I can tell. I had the jpg copies on my harddrive but we can't figure out how to put them back into the program and be able to print them in their books.
I had 20 pages done for my son's book from 2005 so I have now rebuilt them all, and got three more done too. Can I just say that re-doing something youv'e already done is never as much fun? LOL! I expected it to go faster since it was done and I just had to copy the original but since it wasn't nearly as fun I had a hard time motivating myself to keep going.
Since I can't seem to make them small enough to load here, the three new pages are found on my blog HERE and HERE. The first uses a sketch from Cheryl's blog and the second uses two of Sally's Friday sketches.
Soo that's what I've been doing. I might get another page or two done before the 30th, but we'll see. I am anxious to check this month's gallery!!!

Oh my gosh, Tonya, that's awful for you! There's nothing much less fun that having to re-do pages. At least you had the jpg version to copy from. I hope you can find a way to get yourself an external hard drive to back up your pages from now on. You can get them quite cheaply now and if your computer crashes, it won't take the external hard drive with it.
I'm glad you got the reconstruction behind you. Maybe things will be more fun hereon out!
Thanks to Wendy,(her Tuesday Morning Ad Inspiration Challenge) I have gotten 2 more pages done for April. That makes a total of 8 for April.
Here is first page of the LO. And here is the 2nd page.
Sorry you had to redo your pages Tanya! I am going to go look at them now.
I have had no desire to scrap, but I am trying to get some mojo going. So I was searching through the gallery and came across someone's page using the stamps "Unity Stamps Alphabetically Adorable" I have searched for them on line and such but having no luck :(
Can anyone tell me anything about them? Does SU offer something similar does another company offer something similar?

Here's a page I did using altered chipboard. Actually, I used grungeboard and I dressed it up with various acrylic paints, stickles and Twinkling H20s. If I do say so myself, the letters and other pieces are much prettier and less gaudy IRL! :p

They're a sub-brand of Unity Stamp Co. named Ippity Stamps. I found them on the Ippity site here:

Happy Easter, to my SCSBFFs!!!
Hello Friends!
What a treat to be back on the SCS site and to find the challenge thread...sadly, that took me a few panicky seconds because it's been toooo long. And then I see Wendella! YAY!!! A familiar face!!! After a loooong hiatus for scrapbooking I am going 'back to the beginning' and challenging myself to 5 minutes a day at the scrapbooking table. Just 5 minutes, I can do it!!!
Happy Easter to you all!
Kristin

Hi Annie!!!! Hope all is well with you... I've missed you!
Scraps to me is anything smaller than 4x4. I have a big ole blue bag recycling bag in my craft room and I toss anything smaller or anything weirdly cut out of. I used to punch small bits and then save those shapes to use in future projects but found it fiddly to pick through small bits. If I *can* punch shapes out of them I have been known to keep a ziploc bag (the large one) at my scrapdesk so that I can punch a shape, toss into the ziploc, then take it to the elementary or Sunday School when the bag is full. Reuse and Recycle are my motto in my scraproom... but the "reuse" doesn't have to be by me so it's guilt-free! ;)

Well, hello Kristin -- it's been a while!! lol I'm glad to hear you're gonna try and get back to a little scrapping. Five minutes a day will be a good start--I could never stop there, though! Then again, I don't have 4 kiddos to manage (just 2 pooches and 2 DGDs who we're going to see today!)
I hope you'll be stopping in more often. I love your chipper, happy posts and comments!

Have a great day!

Hi Kristin! Glad you are trying to get back into scrappin! I worked for 30 years and retired 2 years ago. One of my main goals was to scrap all my photos when I retired. I haven't done too well, until I got on this goal thread. Now I am accountable!!

Hi Sharon!!!! Nice to meet you!
That's awesome that you are working to get pages accomplished! I always feel that even just one memory down on paper is better than none... so you go girl!!!!! I started 'just 5 minutes a day' a few years ago and did over 750 12x12 pages in one year... THAT'S how awesome this SCS group is for keeping a scrapbooker motivated, encouraged, on track!!!!! THESE GALS ROCK!!!

School holiday means Momma's gonna scrap!
Hi All! As today is a bankers' holiday for Easter the schools are closed. My kids and I are all still in jammies (it just passed noon!) and I'm heading down to try my hand at scrapbooking... wish me luck!?!?!? I have spent the past week cleaning off the landslide that was all over my scraptable and I'm kind of nervous... nerd-y, I know! :-)
Have a great day!
Kristin

Hmph! I am a banker and in the US they don't give us a day off for Easter! It is kinda weird...we get all of the other holidays - MLK day, President's Day, etc and yet my hubby who doesn't get those days gets off Good Friday...Oh well

I am finally in my craft room! Only need to do 15 pages to maintain my goal this month...that in itself is a challenge! :-) I just plugged in a movie and am going to start working out my mini VSBN challenge and hopefully a page to go with it...make sure you all mark down the date on your calendar so you can play with us :-). My mom's in town but we're being quiet today, tomorrow I sub at the HS for the first time (fortunately it's a short day) but followed up with Faith Formation class in the evening. It's a hectic week but hopefully after this I'll have a bit of a slower pace...these past few months have been over-the-top busy!
Kristin & Vil...glad to see you all back playing with us again and can't wait to see your fun, fab pages!
Well, I had a very productive month. I have finished 28 pages. I started on our trip to Italy last fall and am loving this project. But tomorrow I am off to Arizona for 8 days, so I won't finish any more. Have to be up at 5 am to catch my plane, so off to bed I go.
I have a very hectic schedule Wendy, but if time allows, I'll get in touch with you and maybe you and Bob can meet up with me again. I'll be in Gold Canyon at our new house (well new to us anyway)

"5 minutes a day" scrapbooking
Hi Janeen,
My '5 minutes a day' usually goes something like this:
- finally drag myself down to the scraproom at about 11:15, just about after I've brushed my teeth and slightly before I've fallen into bed. (On an ideal day I'll go down while my preschooler is watching Go Diego, Go and that gives me about 20 minutes to play!)
- grab any random photo or photo grouping off the pile
- grab three papers: 1 cardstock, 1 print, 1 more print
- choose which of the three papers will be my background
- choose a main shape from my favourite photo (round: close up of someone's face, rectangle if it's a building, triangle if it's a tree), cut from accent paper (one of the three papers originally chosen), or cut something with my Cricut Expression (almost always a big 10" cut or 'fit to page')
- layer background paper, photo, paper shape... adhesive them down before I can change my mind
- journal... always, always journal at least where/what/when
- embellish (always in 3s...either three spots or three things layers...an interior designer trick I was taught once) and always dark brown or black somewhere)
- call it done and go to bed celebrating that in this busy mommy day I did actually start-to-finish one thing!
The entire process takes me about 15-30 minutes for a fairly fancy/element heavy page. The "5 minutes scrapbooking" is to sucker me in that I can really sacrifice 5 minutes out of my day to just get one page done. :-) Once I do "5 minutes a day" for about a week I am so used to my scraproom, where my supplies are, which photo is next on the to do pile that it doesn't take long to just get down to business and scrap a page or two.
...and sometimes my 5 minutes is only just enough to pull papers and embellishments... and that's okay, because that gets me ahead of the game for tomorrow's "5 minutes"!
Hope that helps!

So... I went downstairs to scrapbook and... NO ADHESIVE! Like, seriously! I had refills with no holder. I had holders with no refills. I had boxes with no refills but didn't have the holder anyway so it didn't matter. And I refused to use plain ole Scotch tape. Doh! So... I quilted instead. lol
The good news, today I bought a refill for my Herma and now I can get to it and scrapbook! I did digi scrap a few pages on my iPad this week, so I'm counting those for sure cuz they are super cute and I'll be printing them at Costc0!
GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!
