Default Stupidly excited!!!

After almost 18 months off work and with no income, I went back to work in June and I've had a long list of things I've wanted to buy once all the bills are paid every payday. I read the MISTI thread diligently for months before that and desperately wanted one because stamping was keeping the crazies at bay; however I couldn't even afford a pack of gum let alone a MISTI.

Fast forward to now. I have to take at least a couple months off from work again to 'fix the broken'. One of the things I'm looking forward to is stamping, coloring and cardmaking because my health problems are anxiety related. So I hummed and hawed and said to hubby yesterday "Can I spend a hundred dollars? Of my money?" He gave me this odd look and questioned why I was even asking if I could spend my own money. I reminded him that we would be tightening our belts again so to speak since I was going off work again, and I didn't think it was appropriate to spend so much money at such a time. He still said of course and still didn't get why I thought I needed his approval (I'm blessed with an amazing husband, I confess!)

So off I went to My Sweet Petunia and... SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!! When Iliana receives her new batch of laser etched MISTIs at the end of the month there will be one with my name on it!!!

Just had to celebrate with y'all since I don't have any IRL cardmaker friends and SCS is the only place anybody would understand!

Enjoy your misti, Kim. And, I hope you are able to relax and work through things and feel better. Anxiety is a tough bird. I am glad you have a supportive husband and will now have time to craft.

Thanks everybody, for sharing the excitement and also for your moral support. I took my Copics to work Friday night and spent an hour or so coloring... it was so relaxing, if only I could do that every night I would have built in stress relief, lol. Friday was supposed to be my last shift so I figured what the heck, may as well slack off a bit LOL... but I got suckered into working Tuesday night by my boss, so one more shift to go. Just one of the many things that contributes to my anxiety in general is the inability to say 'no'!!! And I seriously overestimated my ability to cope with a graveyard shift. I'm a total night owl, but there is a huge difference between sleeping during the day because you want to sleep in, and sleeping during the day because you have to go back to work 12 hours later! Especially when your brain doesn't have an 'off' switch.

Now to make it through the next 3+ weeks in anticipation of my MISTI!!!

I just found your thread and I'm so happy that you were able to purchase this amazing tool! I just finished stamping 220 card fronts with two different stamps and two different colors and they all turned out PERFECT! The hardest part was getting the two word stamps straight for the first one! I cannot stamp without using this tool any more. I tried the other day thinking, I can get this fully stamped without MISTI - not! So, for me it doesn't matter what I'm stamping - USE THE MISTI! Have fun!
