Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were wonderful and that you started January with a loving heart.
This month's challenge is celebrating Pantone's Color of 2020: Classic Blue.
I'm a blue lover so I was excited to see this beautiful tone. I was even more excited when I saw that Gina K's Blue Denim ink and coordinating paper were that same classy color.
I've started to really love ink blending and thought I'd add some of that to my card using Gina's ink and my Life Changing Blender Brushes. For my stamp set I chose Gina K's Tall Pine stamp and heat embossed it with Alabastar white embossing powder from Brutus Monroe. I was able to stamp the tree line twice with VersaMark Ink to make sure my embossing was perfect. I used the Blue Denim ink to blend over my paper to create an ombre effect in my sky. I stamped the New Year sentiment from her Christmas Silhouettes stamp set. I cut the words AND A off so I could just use the Happy New Year. A little stamp surgery, lol. I used a die from the Greetery to cut out the trees. I made my banner by first stamping my sentiment and then using my Cut-Align to cut it to the appropriate height I wanted. I mounted/framed the image a couple times with Denim Blue and white cardstock. A pretty quick card and oh, so pretty!
Here is my card and some pictures of different steps during my process.
In the picture below I used Therm O Web purple tape to mask the sides of
my focal area. I ended up not doing the masking technique for this card, changing my design half way through. But the purple tape is amazing!
Below you can see how wonderfully even the Brutus Monroe embossing powder looked on my card.

I hope you enjoyed this card and I hope you all enter this month!
This month you are challenged to use classic blue on your card in some capacity. If you don't have that specific color, a similar blue shade is fine.

This month's winner will receive:

1 $50 Gift Certificate to Gina K. Designs, and 1 A "Blue Prize Pack" valued at $49.99!!!!
EDITED 1/13/2020 to add another prize!!! 1 Blue Themed prize pack from Sue Doherty and Therm O Web!! Some blue foil and who knows what else?

Great challenge...loving blue! Here's my card. I used my Misti for the little "Love" sentiment and also for the inside verse. Here's my card (the blue looks richer in person):
I have GKD denim but mine doesn't look that color, mine is from a few years back and it isn't the ink.
I didn't read the entire post to see the bonus prizes! Great bonus.
This color makes me think of this song...
For me, Alan Jackson songs have to include Let It Be Christmas, and the video of It's Five O'clock Somewhere with Jimmy Buffett. This was lovely, though. I haven't listened to a whole lot of Alan Jackson, although when he did those truck commercials, I thought he was SO good looking!
This is one of my favorite Gina K blues!! Blue is also my Dad's favorite color, so thought I'd enter his card in the challenge. Thanks for the chance to win the wonderful prizes!

My daughter has started saying "adulting is so fun at times" I thought of her as I made this card! She's in her 7th month of pregnancy with a toddler...I understand.

Ohh, love that prize package! Maybe Thermoweb will add Gina K's beautiful blue glitter gell, been wanting to get that but haven't been able to afford it, but boy that blue is just beautiful!! Congrats to whoever wins...My card is in. Had to try anyway. :-)
This really is my favorite blue to use from GKD (well, I also like her blue raspberry color but I don't know the name of that one unless it is blue raspberry!)
Bare with me...I go going on this color and with these stamps from IO that I couldn't stop...my desk is clear from these so hopefully you won't see anymore from me this month!!!
Awesome prize. I wish my craft room was ready lol. I want to play. Happy day everyone and Misti Monday.

Used my regular MISTI to line up two panels exactly the same! Heat embossed both using white embossing powder! Cut the one panel down and sponged in two shades of blue!
Ooh some beautiful cards being made and in my favourite colour. I made a card last night that I needed for a friend and found some space on my desk amongst the clutter.
Now I’m thinking I might just have to play with blue this week......even if I can’t find my life changing brushes or have much spare time this week. This challenge rocks.
Good luck everyone.
