Default Magnets for MISTI

I have done a search and see that some of you have bought replacement magnets at Home Depot. I have found some online, that I can pick up at my local store.

I plan on stopping after work to pick up a pack, but since I don't have my MISTI at work, I am unsure of the dimensions. Are the magnets that are sold in Home Depot the same thickness of the ones that came with my MISTI?

I should have ordered extras when I got the MISTI, but until I used my photopolymers last night, I didn't realize that I actually need more than 2 magnets to hold down my card. Whenever I'm using the cling foam stamps, 2 work great.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me!

What, won't they let you stamp at work???!! Don't they get that it's a MISTI? Hee hee.

I have sort of a funny story about the magnets. I was so excited about the thought of owning a MISTI, I bought my magnets at Home Depot before I even had a MISTI. They sat unused for longer than I care to admit after my MISTI arrived because I couldn't get them apart. I finally took them back to HD and found a nice young man and asked if he would slide them apart. He did, YEAH! He was so fascinated at how strong they were he said: "I've got to get myself some of these".

Your hands are most likely stronger than mine. I can slide 2 of them apart, with effort, when they stick together, but not when they were all stuck together. Mightly strong magnets!

I have concerns about the magnets I saw at Lowes. The magnets don.t have the smooth metal coating. The are just the magnet. Worried they would scratch the acrylic.
Thoughts?

Thanks for all the help guys! I got my magnets and did have a hard time getting them apart.

Don't I wish I could stamp at work! I did the stamp in a circle thing over the weekend and I'm sold! Also, got my first blood blister from those dang magnets snapping together on my finger.

Lydia,

Thanks for posting the video. I will be digging out my vast collection of washi tape and putting them on the magnets when I get home. This idea is pure genius!!!
