Challenge Title: In Appreciation of MISTI. Hostess: MISTI Monday Keyword: MSP53 Date: January 3, 2022
Hello everyone! Happy New Year! Thank you for stopping by to take a look at the challenge.
With the death of my dad right before Christmas, I was shown so much love from my family and friends during that time. I really came to appreciate, even more than usual, the blessings in my life that each person brings. Reading through the December challenge, I saw the conversation regarding the generous challenge prize, given month after month. I was struck, again, by the thought of how the MISTI has changed my life in many meaningful ways. Some days I cannot quit thinking of the genius Iliana brought to us, and then sometimes I think I take it for granted. My MISTIS sit all around my craft room and are always within arm's reach. I enjoy my crafting so much more since this pink tool came into my life.
This month, I want to issue you a challenge for thankfulness....to Iliana, of My Sweet Petunia.
Please create a card using pink (My Sweet Petunia's signature color) and express your gratitude for your MISTI, or other tool you use from her site, in the challenge comments. If you don't have a MISTI, thank her for having this challenge month after month. Her generosity knows no bounds.
I used my new Pinkfresh stamps, stencils and dies (my daughter got them for me for Christmas) to create my pink card. I used my MISTI to stamp the black outline first (left the stamp in the MISTI), blended the oxide inks in the with stencils...then put my paper back in the MISTI again to darken those black lines that faded with the ink blending. Without the MISTI, this card would not be possible.
I hope you all participate for this pretty, pink challenge!
Happy January!

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. Gentle hugs
Iliana and the MISTI are the reason I am still stamping. I felt like I had more control once that pretty pink tool showed up on my desk, lol. I had reached the point where all I did was waste paper and it just wasn't fun anymore. Enter MISTI !!! It's all good now.
Here is my card I made for this challenge...and I am not going to admit to how many MISTI's I have in my possession nor how many I have given away! I continue to unmount wood stamps as I want to use them so I can happily use them in the MISTI.
Here is my card. Pixie pink thank you. It seemed very appropriate to make this a thank-you card. Thank you to MISTI Monday for doing the challenge and providing the prize all these years. Thank you to Iliana for a wonderful product and for taking over providing the prize. Both of you are very generous.
Now that you have the fabulous MISTI, do you find you have any use for your old acrylic blocks?
I use mine sometimes. I have even stamped with a small block on my MISTI. Small stamps are sometimes easier to use with the block, like faces on a critter.

I use mine for watercolor inking as well as a weight for holding glued items while drying! I do not use them to stamp images! Love my MISTIs for stamping and aligning...and today using the T-ruler was a bonus....just saying' :lolo:

Wasn't my plan but I used pink again so am posting another card for this challenge. Would have wasted multiple pieces of cardstock had I not had the MISTI for this card!
Thank you for your replies. Now, I have more questions. Do you unmount most of your stamps for use in the MISTI or do you prefer to leave them mounted on wood blocks and what are your reasons for whatever you do?
Thank you for your input.
(Should I be asking this somewhere other than this challenge thread?)

Not the Misti signature bright pink, instead I went with a pale pink on my card. I love Love LOVE my Misti/s, which allow me to get a good image every single time, since I can repeat stamping until I do. A real game-changer for this rubber stamper.
I have another card, though not the signature pink. It is in the pink family. I had to use the MISTI to really get this image stamped. I stamped it twice before heat embossing.
How fun - Happy 2022, everyone! Iliana's signature bright pink is on my butterfly card here
and it's a pink dyed background with avacados! And, acrylic pink paint for the fauna using a stencil!
I purchased the rulers with my last purchase in December...use them often! Glad they are a shorter length I used to have a T ruler that was longer and it was too long for the little space I have available for making a card.
(The small space is because I may have too many other things on the desk, not for lack of desk space itself!)

The rulers look nice. How does the sticky mat work? I have probably seen videos where people are using other vendor products, but didn't pay much attention.
Here is my entry. It turned out different than I originally planned, but that is often a nice surprise.
Thank you for the challenge and the awesome prizes. Grateful Wreath by TeriJ at Splitcoaststampers
I made one more card for this challenge. It was uploaded and approved in time but just not posted here until this morning. My pink morning glory card is here. I taped the bare rubber to the top of the MISTI and stamped it a few times to get a good image. I'm so glad for the MISTI that allows me to do that.
Congratulations to MiamiKel4! Her Avadados please! card was randomly chosen at the winning card for this month's challenge! Congratulations!
Thank you all for playing along! Did you see the two new products in the My Sweet Petunia shop? Iliana released the MIS-T Rulers and a set of 3 sticky mats. I got my mats this week but haven't had a chance to play. I love that there are 3 different measurements, and the mats are semitransparent. Go check them out!
Happy February and thank you all, again!
