I tried these daffodils a couple of weeks ago, didn't like the paper, nor the result, so after it dried I'd taken a regular black pen to the drawing and overdrew where I'd made some key mistakes in the flowers, and took a black watercolor pencil to define the petals a bit more. Today I added white gouache to the areas that needed fixing, then flooded that with yellow watercolor, went crazy with some dark purple shadows, added white gouache to some petals, too, and when dry, added some mod podge dew drops. Because it was just an experiment, I wasn't afraid to try anything, and was much happier with the end result as a mixed media piece.
Thank you for a fun challenge, Anna, otherwise this would just be sitting in the failed watercolor pile (it's already big enough
)
