Challenge Title: Modern Art
Hostess: Biggan (Birgit Edblom)
Keyword: MIX14
Spring has finally arrived and the nature becomes colorful again!! :-D
Its my turn to be a hostess and I would love to see your art! We hope you find these challenges inspiring and bring out your creativity and I hope you find this challenge easy and FUN!
I found a definition of ”Modern Art”...
”Modern art generally includes a mix of different styles and “movements” of art. It refers to a time in history when artists started thinking about creating works of art in ways that were new, fresh, and different from the way art had been done before .”
So my challenge for you this week is to create something new and different from what you usually do with at least two kinds of color medium! Spray, inks, Gesso, acrylic, watercolors, glue, pencils, Liquid pearls etc. and just let the imagination flow for an art card!
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Sounds like a great challenge Birgit, with lots of room for interpretation. Actually, all the Mixability challenges are different from what I usually do. LOL! Seriously, I will look for a new way to do something. I did purchase some liquid pearls, so I'm pretty sure they will show up on my card.
eta: In just the few minutes since I posted this, I have been making notes about possible ways to do this challenge and have come up with about a dozen ideas so far! Now to decide which one to start with.
Birgit, thank you for asking us to stretch ourselves! Here is my work in progress... I have to wait until we go to town next week to decide what the next step will be! I used watercolors and acrylic paints together.
Well - I started the instant I got through the door after work, even before I took my coat off.
But I guess I didn't realise how long it would take gesso to dry on canvas! I don't think I'll get mine finished till tomorrow.
My first Mixability challenge! I have been watching this forum for the past few weeks and I'm finally getting in the game. Thanks for hosting, Birgit! Your samples are very beautiful.
So many cute ideas! I have returned for more practice. (See what all that encouragement does to a crafter?! Mama was right when she warned you about feeding stray pets... they come back! ha ha Thanks for the kind words last week, ladies.)

Nice challenge Birgit.... I would like to try another.. but right from scratch..... I have trouble just being spontaneous and love what the rest of you are doing.... ill keep trying though as it is fun....
Thanks Birgit for a wonderful challenge. My card is definitely new, fresh and different from what I usually do, and it has movement too. I am really so pleased with how it turned out. I never, ever would have made this kind of card if you had not challenged us to do modern art.
My second attempt.... I hesitate posting it as some of your cards are so beautiful that I feel this is pretty primitive..... but guess you have to start somewhere!!!!!
Wow, Ladies, you rock! I just glanced quickly at the gallery and there is such a diverse presentation. I want to check out your projects when I can really take the time to enjoy them.

Here is my Modern Art entry, I've done very little watercolor resist and I added Perfect Pearls, which I bought some time ago and have only used once since!
I clear embossed my stamp and then I wiped DI onto my craft sheet and picked it up with both paint brushes and my water pen.
I used Beate's tutorial as my guide. Watercolor Embossing Resist HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
