My dear friends...I am a newbie card maker, and get my inspo on Pinterest. I am interested in and see lots of references to SU products. Is there a digital inventory of All Stamp Sets created by SU? I was wondering if there were other Demo's who had a list of all the Stamp sets from Inception to now. I know there are some Bloggers who have Archives of all the Dies, (hint..Dawn DOStamping.com), and I love her resources. Anyone else know about where I can search for all the sets?
thanks!
I don't have lists of all the SU Stamp sets from beginning to now. I used to think I should have one, but I got wiser with age! Cat (who used to be on SCS) had created a listing that was kept up until sometime in the early 2000's. It included name, retired date, order number, price, and number of stamps the set. She was selling the file but has since quit updating. It was a big job to keep up with it for every catalog every year.
Your best bet would be to create a file listing all the stamp sets that are in the Stampin' Up! galleries pages in the main gallery here on SCS. Then you would "only" have to add stamp sets prior to 2004 when SCS began. I estimate between 5500 and 6000 stamp sets on the site here.
Or another option would be to access the index of every annual catalog SU has put out, plus the mini catalogs (no indexes for most, sorry) since the late 1990's and copy those lists to put in a file, then remove duplicates. Those catalogs are available at this page: https://stampin-style.typepad.com/st...d-and-new.html
It is a VERY monumental task. But if you did a spreadsheet like Cat used to do, I'm sure a few folks would want to purchase a copy.
whoa! Thank you for all the advice, and yes, a monumental task indeed.
I will think about generating something, or fishing around on the Internet, and report back when/if I find something.
I would think it would also be problematic for copywrite infringement.
True that, Fionna! I made a spreadsheet of the SU wheels (all sizes) a few years ago and it did take a while. Here is the forum thread that triggered my project:
Hello All!
I am reorganizing my craft room & trying to find a way to store all of my stamp sets. One idea I'm thinking about is creating a photo database of the stamp sets & assigning a number to each container so I can easily find the stamp I'm looking for. I think it would be easier to look through the photos than to go through stacks of stamp sets.
If you are planning to keep your sets together, you may want to set up you inventory by subject/theme. For example, a heading could be BUTTERFLIES, and then have all the stamp sets that have butterflies listed in that section. Same for all the different kinds of stamps. I find it easier to just separate the stamps themselves, so when I'm looking for a particular butterfly stamp (or to see what butterfly stamps I have) I just go to that drawer (or section on a shelf, or whatever system you use) and grab what I need.
