Thanks Ladies! There WAS a Home Depot in Bismarck, (just an hour away)it was open about a year and then closed up.
I have a room about 10x11 with a closet. I actually would like to present all my stamps, ink, etc, etc as part of the decor of the room. Right now I have a gazillion wood stamps/paper/etc in a huge 12 drawer flat file. Thought that was the answer but it is just TOO big and has to go. I am thinking along the lines of building and entire wall of shallow shelving for all my individual wood mounted stamps and then a wall of peg board. My main concern right now is how to store my paper, and I am a paper fanatic..............
Joann is a good place to order online, they often have free shipping if you spend over 30.00 and they have online coupons for 40-50% off. They have some plastic storage things for paper
I am so excited to almost be finished organizing my new craft room! I moved into my new house at the end of March and am still working on it! I wanted to share my new card stock storage because I am so happy with it. The cardstock storage is a Storex Literature organizer (3 of them put together actually) - bought one from amazon and the other two from Quill.com because I had a coupon for $20. I'm still working on the rest of the room and getting to the point where I'm tired of sorting stuff and just want it to be all put away! I need some motivation/inspiration to get over that!

I cleaned my workplace! I purged old things and kept new fresh things.
I cant wait to get crafty!
Bonnie
Wow! You are organized! I also cleaned my craft space yesterday..but I need to get some more storage for my papers and also my stamps before I can really say its done! I have a hard time coming up with an idea to store my paper..and right now its a mess!
I moved into my new house in March and finally have my stampin room all cleaned and set up! Here are a couple pics of my embellishment storage - the card catalog is full of embellishments organized by color - the rest of the pics are in my gallery!

What a great idea to use ice cube trays in the card catalog!! When I was a teacher and we moved into a new building we threw a ton of them away!!
Gosh Jessica. I am loving your cardcatalog storage! I used to love those things and when I got married our place cards were old library cards and jackets. You have a lovely space to create.
My stamp supply area is really just a half of a fairly large closet....I have it organized to the hilt and try to keep everything under control. I have a large desk area with my computer and work space. I wish I had more space, but in reality, I have everything I need in the closet!

That is fantastic! What are the cubes you're using for your clear-mount stamps?
I used 2 mini closetmaid cubes! I tried to insert a link here but it wouldn't cooperate. Check out the closetmaid website. I purchased mine at a local discount store. I think they sell them at Lowe's too.

Rosie, what an inviting space! I love it I have some of those Closetmaid cubes too and I love them! I use mine to store my punches and I nailed a sheet of foamcore to the back of mine so the punches wouldn't fall out of the back.
Thanks everyone, for the kind words. I have tried and failed in the past to get my room to where I needed it to be. I sold one of my collections of vintage china on ebay to finance this. I started to have second thoughts but now that my room is almost complete, I couldn't be happier. I purchased the white crafters furniture from Best Craft Organizer, I really agonized over this purchase but it ended up being a perfect fit for me.
I am so looking forward to spending lots of quality time in my new space after the holidays!

Here are some pics of my space. I cleaned and organized everything and then took the pics and then the pictures didn't look too clean and organized, lol. Oh well, here is my crafting area anyway! It is in a little nook off of my living room. It works for me and I like it However, if any of you talented ladies have any suggestions on how to make it better feel free to let me know!

Cyndi Ray, your space is great, but I understand the organization. Its an on-going thing. Last winter I moved everything out of my craft room and we did a complete makeover: installed hardwood floors, new organizers from Organize More!, rebuilt the closet, installed decorator shelving, etc. I told my husband this morning that it looks like somebody bombed it! LOL It is hard to be creative AND neat. I'm finishing my Christmas cards tonight, and I plan to thoroughly clean and - you guessed it - ORGANIZE over the Christmas holidays. But I know that I can either have a neat space, or a place to create. I am not one of those who can do both at the same time. =)

Love the card catalog! I always hope I'll happen upon one some day.

Creative and neat rarely go together!! If you're neat, you're probably not being creative; if you're being creative, chances are you're not being neat! I prefer creating
I am getting a corner of hubbies office! I am looking for a desk. Saw one at Walmart, but it was $139. So I'll check the thrift/junk shops. Thanks for the pictures. I'm going to use a wooden box to store the ink pads. I saw the cubes at Staples. Great idea for my SU stamp sets. I'm going to decorate my little area in pink and lime green.
I have been planning to take a good set of pictures of my crafty space and get them posted in my gallery because people keep asking me for pictures and I don't have good ones. So yesterday I took the time to collect some pictures, take some more, edit them down, and get them posted.
Relief! Check that off my list! And they have already come in handy since I have shared some twice in the last 24 hours.
But now is the first chance I have gotten to share them in this thread. I won't attach them all since there's 37 pictures ;) but I will share the important ones here and you can go to my gallery to see more if you'd like.
These pics show an overall "round the room" set of views...and an open view of my stamping cabinet. More detailed pics of the cabinet are in my gallery.

Diane, it's so nice to put a space to a face I love the southwestern design on the cabinets! Your studio sure inspires creativity.
WHOA - this is awesome! I love the blue worksurfaces and the southwest decor!!
What is in those containers in the stamp cabinet above the work surface? Is that your paper?
Yep, I love my southwest decor, too! Colors are courtesy of my throw that is hanging on the wall.
Are you talking about the white bins on top? Or are you talking about all the drawers in the hutch unit?
The white bins are "stuff". Ott lite bulbs, alterables, you know, "stuff".
The drawers have EVERYTHING in them. 72 drawers. 36 are stamps 24 are paper and 12 are tools and embellies and glue and that kind of thing. Details are in the later pictures in my gallery. I posted a whole slew of them.
I've just moved my craft room from one room to another. My youngest son moved out, so we decided if we decorated his old room and I moved in to that, we could decorate the room I used to use.So I wanted to have a better organised room this time round, as my 'stuff' had taken over a bit, lol. Also, I had a lot more stuff than when I first started, and my crafting taste has changed somewhat over the years, so I also had a clear-out of things I don't use, most of which has gone to my DIL, for the Grandchildren. Anyhow, this is what it looks like now:
I saw the Expedit cubes in Ikea, and fell in love! They're fabulous. I also wanted somewhere especially for my Big Shot Pro, as the thing is so huge! When I saw that the Expedit 4x2 could have a desk attachment, which is big enough easily for the BSP, I was over the moon. The 5x5 Expedit has all my books, stamp folders etc etc. The second row down is all my stamps- I unmounted all my wood block stamps over Christmas, which used to fill, on end, the wooden shelf unit hubby built me, which now houses all my inkpads & so on. Under the table that stands on are drawer units from Staples,( ribbon/vellum/dp)and Really Useful Boxes. Under the other table are deeper drawer units. This holds punches, cardstock, glue etc. The desk(under the window) is also an Ikea table top, with a drawer unit one end- keeps all the 'use all the time' stuff to hand. Its so much better now, I don't feel so overwhelmed with 'stuff'. And the step stool is Ikea too!
You did a great Job organizing your new craft room! Great thinking on space for the Big Shot. I love your inkpad rack! Where did you find it?
