I bought one of these containers and found it very, very difficult to open the individual boxes. I had to pry them open with my large scissors. I do have arthritis in my hands but my husband doesn't and he had a hard time trying to open them. I gave it away to a friend and I ordered some Craft Mates containers. I've used the Craft Mates before for storing eyelets and brads and they are so much easier for me to open.
The blog made them sound so good! But since they lay flat, they look like they take up a lot of room.
They are good. I have three of them. They're about the size of a cookie sheet. Most of the time, though, they live in my CTMH rolling tote, because because they stack nicely on top of my CTMH storage boxes.
For me it can be helpful to read both the responses to questions and some reviews (though eliminating the obviously fake ones). A few people did say the small lids are difficult to open.
One person’s hint: bend each one back and forth a dozen times before filling to loosen them up. (Typing “difficult” in the questions section search box brought these up.)
Jennifer McGuire uses these (or one like it?) and I’ve been tempted, but I don’t use that many sequins/jewels and I have the type the blogger used previously. Plus they neatly stack in 1/4th of an Expedit cube and the Darice wouldn’t fit. (Ikea used to make an insert for Expedit that divided a cube into 4 sections) I have the one she shows in the first photo, plus an older version with many more containers.
Larger embellishments are kept upright in 5x5” pockets a Container Store “Pure” box to flip through.
They stack nicely, have a small foot print and are crystal clear. On the down side, The lids tend to crack and chip during shipping (not worth returning), and of course you need to take the time to unscrew and re-screw the individual containers.
It's a good solution, but perhaps not the best solution.

The rows unlock by pushing the little purple piece, but each section opens independent of the others when flipped open.
I rub them and my hands with a dryer sheet before filling.
I bought two of these years ago; one for eyelets, and one for brads. I used a bunch of brads on those little purses last year. So, I’m going to see about combining them into one case, and I’ll have the other for sequins and things. I love that once you stop it closed, it can store like a book on a shelf.

Absolutely. I just saw on the bottom of the Amazon page that the case can be customized, so maybe the case is sold separately without containers - but I haven’t seen it.
Michaels carries the 56-unit case for $21 so with a 40% off coupon could be worth it for $12.60 even with unneeded inserts.
(Two of my three individual units (which are no longer sold) have smaller compartments and more of them, with a slightly different footprint, so they may not fit in the case.)

This is what I use. I got all of mine at Joann's using a coupon, so no shipping an no broken lids. I like the fact that the lid unscrews, so I can pour a small amount in or select the ones I want and put them there so they don't get lost. (At east that's the plan!)
Thank you SO VERY much for your quick response! Sorry, but I just thought of one more question I wanted to ask. How do you then store them?
Originally I used loose leaf binder rings to hold all the sequins but then I changed to having individual drawers for all my embellishments by color. I use these bags for all my small embellishments. I hate having a bunch of different packaging.

Thank you for answering my question so quickly! I appreciate your help with this. I have been so confused thinking about how I'm going to store them. So this gives me lots of ideas! Once again, thank you for your help!!! 😀😀😀
Mine are in this bead container. There are 18 separate sections.
I have a similar box, believe it or not it's over 50 years old and still has some of the sequins and beads that I used to make ornaments when I was in my teens!

Do the separate sections close & lock? It doesn't look like it, but I wanted to ask?
Also, if they don't close & lock, do you have a problem with them spilling over & mixing with each other
Thank you for sharing what you use! I'm just trying to figure out what storage solution would work the best.
That's why I like these containers for storing glitter, beads, sequins, brads, etc. They each have a screw lid. The containers come in three sizes all within a clear storage box. I get them at Joann's using a coupon when they are not on sale. they are in the jewelry storage section.
Each little box holds a normal package of sequins. And, who doesn't like the $4.99 price tag?!?!?!...or even less when using their 20% off coupon. Luckily, I have a store that's between my home and my work."
Thank you! I LOVE these! I just found I have a store only an hour away!!
