Default Paper Cutter

Hi I need a new paper cutter that will cut more that one sheet of paper, card board and more that one sheet of card stock. Oh and I want it to be straight and even. Have any suggestions? I had a Making Memories one for about six months and it broke. It was a rotary one. It would be nice it it locked that paper is place so it doesn't move around.
Thanks!,
Linda

I have a Fiskars slide type paper cutter. It is big so it can cur my 12 x 12 papers. It has a grid where the paper lays to you can match the entire paper to a line so it is straight. I have had it for about 10+ years now. I have cut multiple sheets of cardstock, cardboard, chipboard and 2 days ago I cut a canvas topped magnet sheet perfectly and cleanly! Best purchase I ever made. There are different kinds of blades and scoring blades that can attach also.

You may be able to go to a scrapbook or craft store and try out one of theirs before you buy one too.

Good luck!

I have a Fiskars Rotary trimmer. I have used it for mutliple layers of cardstock with out a problem. I have not yet tried anything sturdier though. The arm the blade travles down locks into the base hloding the paper down nice and tight. Over all I have been happy with my purchase. I did see a new Fiskars Rotary Trimmer at Mikes that hd the laser cutting guide. ALthough I was drooling, it stayed right there.

The purple cow has a lock for the paper too.

I bought and returned about 6 bypass cutters before I got the best one for me. I'm binding journals and needed to cut the book board (thick chipboard) or a stack of 10 sheets of 24lb paper. (about the same as 8 sheets of SU DSP).

Returned:
Fiskars, Purple Cow, Fellows, ingento

The best of the bunch for me was:
Stampin Up

Seriously, it was half the price of some of the others and gave a cleaner cut without shifting the stacked paper.

Love it!

My all time favorite is my Carl rotary cutter. It will cut multiple sheets of cardstock, can't remember right now though. The base is 12x12, actually a bit bigger because it will cut 12x12 sheets of cardstock. It does lock down so nothing moves. I have had this one for about 5 years and love it!!! I use a small fiskars trimmer for small cuts, but my Carl is used for everything else!

Dahle 507. Love the self-sharpening blade.

I've had a Dahle guillotine style for about 5 years and love it. If you plan on cutting 12x12 paper, I'd recommend the 15" cutter. The 12" cutter actually only cuts about 11-7/8".

Mine is the Dahle 550 - and it never disappoints!! It is really sturdy, LOVE it. When I did need a new blade (they are in NH) they sent a replacement really fast. They have really great customer service too.
