Default Organizing an Art Travel Kit

Hello! When I go on vacation I always bring a few art supplies especially my art journal, watercolor pencils, etc. I use my art journal almost like those new Smash journals to document a few things on trips. Is there anyone that travels with a few supplies and what kind of bag do you put it all in?

You might laugh, but I use one of the zippered bags that the Mister's underwear comes in as a pencil/tool case. They are made out of really nice clear plastic (which is really great at the airport), and have a zipper around one of the short sides. They're durable, exactly the right size for all kinds of pencils, pens, and even an ink pad or two, and a clear block. I think they're Calvin Klein brand... Haha! How's that for ya?

I had Bristol cardstock cut and bound into a book @ Staples. Before I go on vacation I stamp a bunch of images into the book. I bring the book, colored pencils, Twinkling H2Os, Copics, whatever really and then I can color color color!!! Once colored, I cut the images out and use them for card fronts. I find this the most efficient, condensed system. Having the book is easy, portable (bring it to the beach) and I tend to use it more. I used to bring a giant scrapbooking bag FILLED to the brim and I barely opened it. The book and a few coloring essentials fit in a tote bag with magazines, books, playing cards, ipod.....all the "fun stuff" you bring on vacation.

I use a small organizing tote from 31(the smallest organizing utility tote). It's fantastic!!
This little guy has a mesh pocket on the outside of each end.

In the tote I have:
Journal
Baby wipes
Colored Pencils
WC Pencils
little bottle of Tacky Glue
little bottle of Glossy Accents
Staz on ink pads: Jet Black and Timber Brown
Watercolors
Twinkling H2Os
a few paint brushes
a Ranger mister bottle
an inky binky
pencil & eraser
black sharpie
scissors
6" ruler
bottle cap
fake credit card
small tube of black acrylic paint
small tube of white acrylic paint
a couple of folded up paper towels
small tube of gesso

We went out of town labor day weekend, to visit family, and it's a 6-7 hr car drive. I did a lot of back grounds driving there and back!!
